Crushed Stone

We deliver every grade

467 Stone

#467 stone is crushed rock that runs from about 1 1/2 inches down to 1/4 inch, all mixed in one pile. The small pieces fill the gaps between the big ones, so the load packs tight and still drains well. Every piece is angular from the crusher, so it bites together under weight instead of rolling around. You'll see a bit of stone dust in the mix, but the fines are limited on purpose so water can move through.

The 467 name comes from ASTM D448, the standard that labels crushed stone by size. It's a blend of the #4 range (1 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch) and the #67 range (3/4 inch down to a No. 4 sieve), which is why it covers such a wide spread. It says nothing about what kind of rock you're getting, so your pile might be limestone, granite, or trap rock depending on the closest quarry. Price and color tend to follow the source, not the number.

How to choose within 467 stone

Compaction over drainage

Angular pieces lock together. Pick a smaller size when you need the surface to stay put under a driveway or path.

Drainage over compaction

The larger the piece, the more room for water to move through. #1 or #57 for a French drain; #8 or smaller reads as loose gravel.

Washed vs. unwashed

Washed has the dust rinsed out, so it drains faster and won't track into the house. Unwashed compacts harder — better under a paver base.
