Aged fir bark in a deep natural brown — the mellow, established-yard look.
Dark (aged) fir is Douglas fir bark dust screened to 3/4" minus and aged until it settles into a deep, natural brown. It does everything the classic red fir does — holds moisture, suits acid-loving plants, spreads smooth at about 2" — but with a mellower tone that blends into established landscapes instead of announcing itself. Color varies naturally with the season. One cubic yard weighs approximately 500 lbs. Hello Gravel delivers it in bulk by dump truck across Salem and the Willamette Valley.
