Pond Stone
Pond stone is smooth, rounded rock that's been tumbled by rivers and creeks for a long time. The pieces usually run 2 to 5 inches across, so they're bigger than pea gravel but still small enough to move by hand. Colors show up in gray, tan, brown, and rust, depending on where the rock came from.
The "pond" part of the name is about how it's used, not what it's made of. You'll see it lining backyard ponds and water features because the rounded shape looks natural next to water and won't tear a liner. It usually costs a bit more than plain river gravel because the pieces are hand-sorted for size and color.

How to choose within pond stone
Ask before you order
These aren't catalog items. Confirm size, color, and delivery window with the yard before you commit — every load runs differently.
Match the job to the stone
Flagstone, boulders, ballast, glass gravel — each has one right job. Get the job clear first, then the stone follows.
Lead time is longer
A specialty order usually ships slower than a #57 pallet. Plan the delivery date around the material, not the other way around.
