Aglime
Aglime is limestone that's been crushed and ground into a fine powder or grit. It's mostly calcium carbonate, the same stuff that makes up chalk and seashells. You spread it on fields, pastures, gardens, or lawns to raise the soil's pH and cut acidity so plants can pull nutrients from the dirt. Some batches also carry magnesium carbonate and get sold as dolomitic aglime.
The name is short for "agricultural lime." Quality gets rated by CCE (calcium carbonate equivalent, a purity number) and by how fine the grind is. Finer grinds react with the soil faster, so a bag rated 90% CCE and ground to pass a 60-mesh screen works quicker than a coarser one. Aglime usually runs cheaper by the ton than pelletized lime, which is the same powder rolled into dry pellets so it flows through a broadcast spreader without dusting.

How to choose within aglime
Ask before you order
These aren't catalog items. Confirm size, color, and delivery window with the yard before you commit — every load runs differently.
Match the job to the stone
Flagstone, boulders, ballast, glass gravel — each has one right job. Get the job clear first, then the stone follows.
Lead time is longer
A specialty order usually ships slower than a #57 pallet. Plan the delivery date around the material, not the other way around.
