Local Insights
St. Idham is a community with a city population 33,000 and a steady annual growth rate of 0.40%, a pattern that points to steady, incremental demand for home improvement and small-to-medium construction projects rather than rapid build-outs. In a climate that averages 228 sunny days per year and 33.50 inches of rain annually within hardiness zone 8b, homeowners need materials that balance sun tolerance and effective water management. That mix of conditions increases interest in durable surfacing, reliable drainage layers, stable base materials, topsoil and mulches that both retain moisture and resist washout. For homeowners and contractors alike, sourcing quality bulk materials—gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and stone—helps reduce maintenance, improve longevity, and support the steady, practical upgrades common in the area around a metro area population 2.3+ million.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Costs depend on material, distance, and order size; many areas have free delivery and standard delivery is 2+ business days. Next-day delivery is often available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Check your zip code at checkout to see pricing and available delivery windows.
Most deliveries use tri-axle dump trucks that typically carry about 10-14 tons or roughly 8-12 cubic yards, depending on the material's density. Lighter materials take more volume per ton, and heavier materials take less. We list typical truckloads during checkout, and you can contact our team for exact figures for your material.
A 50-pound bag usually contains roughly 0.4 to 0.6 cubic feet, so one cubic yard (27 cubic feet) is about 45 to 70 bags depending on the material and how tightly it packs. A common rule of thumb is roughly 50 to 60 bags per cubic yard for sand-like materials. If you are converting for gravel, stone, or dirt expect variation and use our calculator for a precise estimate.
Match the material to the function: choose materials that compact for driveways, angular materials for stability, and more open, coarse mixes for drainage. Because regional sourcing affects texture and color, consider local performance and aesthetic expectations when ordering gravel, sand, dirt, stone. If unsure, use our aggregate quiz or contact our team for project-specific recommendations.
Measure the length, width, and desired depth of the area, convert depth to feet, and multiply to get cubic feet, then divide by 27 to get cubic yards. Our online material calculator can do this automatically and factors in material type and coverage. If you prefer help, call or text our team with your measurements and the project type for guidance.
Yes. Local weather and construction seasons affect availability, delivery times, and how materials perform; wet seasons can make sites harder to access and affect compaction. Regional demand from agriculture and construction in Oklahoma can also influence short-term price and supply. We recommend ordering early for spring and summer projects and checking availability for your zip code.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed and depends on safety and site access. Request the service at checkout and the driver will assess upon arrival whether it can be done. If spreading is essential, plan for a professional contractor or arrange for equipment separately.
Contact our customer service as soon as possible; changes are easiest before the order is processed and dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate modifications but changes depend on supplier and hauler status. For cancellations, fees may apply if the order has already been scheduled with a truck.
Because materials are regionally sourced, color, texture, and small-scale variation are normal and photos are for reference only. Gravel, sand, dirt, stone will reflect the local geology and may differ from images. If color or texture is important, add notes to your order or contact our team for samples or additional guidance.
Provide clear truck access with enough turning and dumping space and remove low-hanging branches or obstacles; park vehicles away from the delivery path. Mark your preferred dump location and protect any nearby plants or structures with plywood if needed. If access is limited, tell us during ordering so we can coordinate an appropriate truck size or placement.
Local roads or neighborhoods may have weight or permit restrictions that affect where trucks can enter or dump; these rules vary by area. Our contracted haulers follow local regulations, but you should check with your municipality if you suspect restrictions or private road limits. Contact our team with any concerns and we will help coordinate a compliant delivery plan.
