What to know about Prescott

Why Prescott homeowners choose Hello Gravel

Prescott is a small but steadily growing community with a population of 3,010. A steady annual growth rate of 1.20% suggests ongoing, predictable demand for home improvement, landscaping, and small-scale construction projects rather than a sudden building boom. In Prescott's West Michigan setting — with 228 sunny days a year, 34.25 inches of rainfall annually, and a hardiness zone of 8b — homeowners face a mix of wet and dry seasons that affect how materials perform. Those conditions increase the need for well-draining bases, erosion-control products, quality topsoil blends, durable aggregates for paths and patios, and bedding materials for plantings. As yards are upgraded and outdoor living spaces expand, sourcing locally appropriate bulk materials reduces rework, improves longevity in local soils, and helps projects match regional color and texture preferences.

They were quick to reach out to me and fixed a typo of what I was looking for soil wise for my Raised Garden bed. But shout out to Hello Gravel for being quick to reply!

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Prescott delivery questions

How much does a yard of material delivered to Prescott cost?

Prices vary by material type, local supplier, and current market rates. To get an accurate per-yard price for Prescott, MI, enter your zip code on our site, pick the material group (gravel, sand, dirt, stone), and review the listed price and delivery fee in checkout. If you need help, contact our team for a custom quote.

What are your delivery fees and minimum order for bulk materials in Prescott and nearby ZIP codes?

Our minimum order is 3 tons. Standard delivery typically requires 2+ business days and may be free in many areas, while next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee; exact delivery charges for Prescott and nearby ZIP codes are shown at checkout. Remote locations or restricted access may incur extra fees listed on your quote.

Can you deliver bulk materials to rural driveways in Prescott and how do I schedule delivery?

Yes, we can deliver to many rural driveways in the Prescott area if a dump truck can safely access the drop zone. Schedule delivery online by entering your zip code, choosing a material and date, and adding delivery notes or photos to show access, gate codes, or obstacles. Our drivers will assess the site on arrival; if access is impossible, we will contact you to arrange alternatives.

What types of materials do you offer for driveways and landscaping in Prescott, and how do I choose the right one?

We offer a range of materials including various gravels, sands, dirt mixes, and decorative stones sourced regionally. Choose based on the project: structural needs (driveway base vs top layer), drainage, appearance, and local climate; use our material quiz and calculator for guidance or contact our sales team for recommendations. Remember that texture and color can vary by supplier due to local geology.

How many tons are in a cubic yard and how much material will I need for a 20x30 driveway?

Tons per cubic yard vary by material density but commonly range from about 1.2 to 1.5 tons per cubic yard. To estimate volume, multiply area (20 ft x 30 ft = 600 sq ft) by depth in feet and divide by 27 (cubic feet per cubic yard). For example, a 20x30 driveway at 4 inches (0.33 ft) depth needs about 7.5 cubic yards (roughly 9 to 11 tons depending on the material); at 6 inches depth you would need about 11.1 cubic yards (roughly 13 to 17 tons). Use our online calculator for a precise estimate.

Do you provide spreading, compaction, or installation services in Prescott?

Drivers may be able to perform limited tailgate spreading at their discretion and depending on site conditions; this should be requested at checkout but is not guaranteed. We do not typically provide compaction or full installation services; for grading, compaction, or finished installation, we recommend hiring a local contractor and can help connect you to pros in the area. Always plan for additional labor and equipment costs if you need installation beyond delivery.

Are there additional fees for deliveries to remote Prescott ZIP codes and are there truck access or weight limits I should know about?

Additional fees may apply for remote or difficult-to-access ZIP codes near Prescott; any surcharges will be included in your quote at checkout. Deliveries are usually made with tri-axle dump trucks, which require sufficient road width, turning room, and a stable drop zone; some rural roads or small bridges may have weight or permit restrictions. Before ordering, include photos and clear access notes so we can confirm that a truck can safely deliver.

How can I get an accurate quote and place an order for materials for my Prescott property?

Get an accurate quote online by entering your Prescott zip code, selecting the material group, measuring your project area, and using our material calculator. Add delivery date preferences and upload photos or notes about access; final pricing and delivery windows are shown at checkout. If you prefer help, call 855-241-8884 or text 844-407-3734 for personalized guidance.

What payment methods do you accept and do you require a deposit for orders in West Michigan?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), PayPal, and Apple Pay through our secure online checkout. Deposit requirements can vary by supplier and order size; many orders are paid at checkout, but some deliveries may require authorization or a partial deposit depending on the supplier. Contact our team if you have questions about payment or deposit needs for your Prescott delivery.

Can I get same-week or emergency delivery of materials to Prescott and are there surcharges?

Same-week and next-day deliveries are often possible depending on local supplier and truck availability, with next-day available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Emergency or expedited deliveries may incur surcharges and are subject to supplier capacity and route scheduling; these options are shown during checkout if available. We recommend ordering early and contacting our team for time-sensitive projects.

What if the material looks different than expected or I need to change my Prescott order?

Because materials are sourced regionally, color and texture can vary; if appearance is important, note color preferences in Order Notes and ask your sales rep for details before ordering. To change an order, contact our team as soon as possible—changes are easier before the order is processed or dispatch begins, but not all modifications can be accommodated. If there is an issue with delivery or material, contact customer service promptly and we will work to resolve it according to our policies.
