Local Insights
Clark County homeowners live in a steadily growing community (city population: 49,000) that is part of a much larger regional market (metro area population: 2.4+ million). The modest growth rate (0.69% annually) usually means steady, incremental construction and landscaping demand rather than boom-and-bust cycles — think routine driveway repairs, yard renovations, and incremental new builds rather than large-scale redevelopment. Local climate and geography shape material choices: an average annual rainfall of 33.50 inches combined with 228 sunny days a year and hardiness zone 8b drives need for materials that manage water, resist sun exposure, and support plants suited to the region. For homeowners, that translates into a practical mix of base materials for drainage and driveways, well-graded soils for planting beds, and stable surface materials for paths and patios. Choosing quality bulk materials helps reduce maintenance, prevent erosion, and keep projects looking consistent over time.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Start with the job you need done: load-bearing surfaces need a stable base, drainage areas need material that sheds water, and garden beds need something that supports plants. Think about appearance, maintenance, and how much traffic the area will get. Use Hello Gravel’s material quiz or contact our team for recommendations based on local conditions and project goals; we work with gravel, sand, dirt, stone and other aggregates so you can compare options.
Measure the area in square feet and decide the depth in inches, then convert to cubic yards to get a tonnage estimate (our online calculator can do this for you). For most jobs Hello Gravel requires a minimum order of 3 tons, so plan quantities accordingly. If you’re unsure, contact our team with your dimensions and we’ll help verify the estimate.
Yes — hot summers, cold winters, and periodic freeze-thaw cycles in the region can affect settling, drainage, and durability. Choose materials that address drainage and freeze-thaw movement for driveways and paths, and lighter, well-draining options for planting beds. We recommend considering local site conditions and asking our team about common regional choices.
We supply materials for driveways, walkways, patios, grading and drainage work, backfill, erosion control, and landscaping beds for both homeowners and contractors. Typical orders range from small garden projects to several truckloads for construction jobs. If you have a specific project, tell us the scope and we’ll suggest materials and likely quantities.
Standard delivery is generally available in 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is offered for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. You can select your preferred delivery date during checkout and check zip code availability on our site. Arrival windows depend on the local hauler and route, so we confirm timing after the order is accepted.
Dump trucks (typically tri-axle) need clear, level access and enough turning room; please remove low-hanging branches and mark desired drop locations with flags or stakes. Soft ground, narrow lanes, or parking restrictions can affect where material can be placed and may change delivery charges. If you need material placed in a specific spot, request tailgate spreading at checkout and note that drivers will assess safety on arrival.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this service is not guaranteed and depends on site conditions and safety. Request spreading at checkout and be prepared to hire a local contractor if you need precise grading or finished work. For larger or sensitive projects we recommend arranging professional spreading and compaction.
Price is influenced by material type, quantity, delivery distance, site access, and any special services like next-day delivery or spreading. Regional sourcing and truck routing can also change costs, so final pricing is provided at checkout or on your quote. Hello Gravel provides transparent pricing up front and customer support to explain any line items.
Possibly — some counties, cities, or homeowner associations have rules about street parking, driveway work, or visible material deliveries. Check Clark County and local municipality requirements and review your HOA guidelines before scheduling a delivery. If you expect trucks to block a street or need a permit, confirm those details before ordering to avoid delays.
Natural materials vary by source, so color and texture can differ from photos; this is normal with regional sourcing. If you have concerns, contact Hello Gravel customer service promptly with your order number and photos so we can review and work to resolve the issue. For order changes, contact us as soon as possible — modifications are easier before dispatch but cannot always be guaranteed.
