Limestone Screenings

Limestone screenings are a fine, crushed stone byproduct produced during the processing of larger limestone aggregates. With a powdery texture and particle sizes typically less than 1/4”, these screenings offer excellent compaction and a smooth, stable finish.

This fine material is ideal for use as a base layer beneath pavers, patios, and walkways, where its ability to compact tightly helps prevent shifting and settling. Limestone’s natural composition also provides good drainage while minimizing dust compared to other stone fines. Commonly used in both residential and commercial landscaping, limestone screenings are valued for their affordability, ease of installation, and ability to create a level surface. However, because they are so fine, they may not be suitable for areas requiring significant drainage or heavy load-bearing applications.
