Screenings with Fa-5 Attribute

Screenings with the Fa-5 attribute are finely crushed stone byproducts produced during the aggregate screening process. These particles are typically smaller than standard gravel, resulting in a compactable, sand-like material. The Fa-5 designation indicates a specific gradation and quality standard, ensuring consistent particle size and minimal impurities.




The fine texture of Fa-5 screenings makes them ideal for use as a leveling base beneath pavers, bricks, or flagstone in patios and walkways. Their excellent compaction properties help create a stable, even surface, reducing the risk of shifting or settling over time. In addition, screenings are commonly used for pipe bedding, horse arenas, and as a component in concrete mixes. While their fine size allows for smooth finishes and easy shaping, they may not provide optimal drainage compared to coarser aggregates, making them less suitable for applications requiring rapid water runoff.
