Screenings in a 3/8" minus size range are finely crushed limestone particles, including both small gravel and stone dust. Produced as a byproduct of the limestone crushing process, these screenings feature a blend of fine and ultra-fine particles, making them highly compactable and stable.




The "fines" attribute means this material packs tightly, creating a smooth, solid surface ideal for use as a base layer beneath pavers, patios, and walkways. Its excellent compaction properties also make it suitable for filling gaps between stones or bricks, and for use in pathways where a firm, level finish is desired. Limestone's natural composition helps with drainage while minimizing dust compared to other aggregates. However, because screenings are so fine, they are not recommended for areas requiring significant drainage or for use as a decorative top layer. Overall, limestone screenings are a versatile, cost-effective choice for both residential and commercial hardscape projects.
