Screenings in a #200 to 1/4” Size Range

Screenings in a #200 to 1/4" size range are finely crushed stone byproducts produced during the aggregate screening process. This material consists of small particles and stone dust, resulting from the crushing and screening of larger stones. The fine texture and gradation make screenings an ideal choice for applications requiring a compactable, stable base.




The small particle size allows screenings to fill voids efficiently, creating a smooth, level surface that is easy to compact. This makes them especially useful as a setting bed for pavers, flagstone patios, and walkways, as well as a base layer beneath concrete slabs. Screenings are also commonly used for horse arenas, bike paths, and as a top dressing for gravel driveways. While their fine texture provides excellent compaction and stability, it can also lead to poor drainage compared to coarser aggregates, making them less suitable for areas where water runoff is a concern.
