Screenings in the #10 size range are finely crushed stone particles, typically produced as a byproduct during the crushing and screening of larger aggregates. As an unwashed, dry material, these screenings retain their natural dust and fines, which can be beneficial for certain construction applications.




The #10 size refers to very small particles, often passing through a 1/16" sieve, making them ideal for creating a compact, stable base. The unwashed, dry attribute means the material contains more dust, which helps it bind together when compacted but may generate airborne particles during installation. Common uses include setting pavers, creating walkways, or as a leveling layer beneath patios and flagstone. While the fine texture allows for excellent compaction and a smooth finish, the presence of dust can be a drawback in areas where cleanliness or drainage is a priority.
