Screenings in a 1/8” Size Range

Screenings in a 1/8" size range are finely crushed stone byproducts produced during the screening and crushing of larger aggregates. This material consists of small, angular particles that are typically less than 1/8 inch in diameter, resulting in a compactable, sand-like texture.




The fine 1/8" size makes screenings ideal for creating a smooth, stable base layer beneath pavers, bricks, or flagstone in patios and walkways. Their compactability helps prevent shifting and settling, while the small particle size fills voids effectively, reducing the risk of weed growth. Screenings are also commonly used for pathways, as a leveling agent, or as a component in concrete mixes. While they offer excellent stability and a smooth finish, screenings may not provide optimal drainage compared to larger aggregates, making them less suitable for areas requiring high permeability.
