Screenings in a 1/2” Size Range

Screenings in a 1/2" size range are finely crushed stone byproducts produced during the screening and crushing of larger aggregates. This material consists of small, angular particles that are typically less than half an inch in diameter, resulting in a compactable and stable base material.




The 1/2" size makes these screenings ideal for creating a smooth, level surface, as the fine particles fill voids and lock together tightly. This property is especially valuable for applications such as underlayment for pavers, patios, walkways, and as a base for flagstone installations. Screenings are also commonly used for pathways, horse arenas, and as a component in concrete mixes. While their fine texture allows for excellent compaction and minimal shifting, it also means they are less suitable for drainage applications compared to coarser aggregates. Overall, 1/2" screenings offer a cost-effective, stable, and easy-to-work-with solution for a variety of residential and commercial construction projects.
