Inch-and-a-half hardpac is a compactable crushed stone-and-fines base blend — angular stone graded from about 1½" down to sand and fines so it packs into a firm, locked surface. It's a speckled, multicolor mix of tan, brown, and gray with white, rust-red, and darker charcoal pieces, and the range of sizes is what lets it compact tight. That makes it a practical base and subbase under driveways, pavers, and slabs, and a stable, economical driving surface through New England winters. Hello Gravel delivers it in bulk across the Amherst–Northampton area.
