Product description
Fire pit base is smooth, rounded river gravel that makes a clean, level foundation for a backyard fire pit. It spreads into an even layer that sets the base for your pit, drains well so water doesn't pool underneath, and gives the area a finished look underfoot. Easy to pour, rake level, and walk on, it's a simple way to build out a fire pit spot in your yard. Hello Gravel delivers it in bulk by dump truck across the Fort Worth area.

Hello Gravel Guarantee
Right material. Safe delivery. Real help if we miss.
How it works
- We fix what we control. Wrong material, confirmed fulfillment errors, or orders we cannot complete are reviewed for replacement, refund, or another fair resolution.
- Safe delivery comes first. The driver chooses the final safe dump location on site. If your requested spot is not safely reachable, we deliver to the closest safe location available.
- Plans change. You can cancel free up to one full business day before delivery. Next-business-day orders cannot be cancelled once confirmed.
- Natural material varies. Color, texture, moisture, dust, and sizing can vary by quarry, supplier, season, and region.
“We chose a delivery date. The driver dropped it exactly where I asked. I had never ordered gravel in my life.”

I initially ordered the wrong amount but the customer service representative, Jenel, helped me out by correcting it and giving me a refund immediately. I advised them where I would like the dirt to be dumped in my backyard and the driver made it happen. Great experience working with Jenel and Hello Gravel.

I work for an industrial construction company that deals with a lot of civil work, and I'm very accustomed to building a proper base with specific materials on projects we work on. The people at Hello Gravel were very pleasant to deal with. Prices are good. Unfortunately, the product I asked for wasn't available after paying for it, but they worked hard at ensuring I had a suitabe alternative. In the end, it all worked well, and the staff were very attentive. Lots of operators would not have gone through the trouble they did to make sure I was happy as a customer. Hello Gravel did

Frequently Asked Questions
Use the calculator with the width of your pit area and a 2–3" depth. Most backyard fire pit pads are a few feet wider than the pit itself.
Delivered by dump truck across the Fort Worth area. Choose a drop spot that's accessible, level, and clear of vehicles or overhead obstructions.
Use it as the surrounding base or pad, not as fill inside the pit where flames sit. Smooth river-type stones can trap moisture and may crack or pop if heated directly, so keep the gravel around and under the pit structure rather than in the burning area, and pair it with a proper fire ring or pit insert.
Because it's rounded, the gravel shifts underfoot — edging around the fire pit area keeps it contained and laying landscape fabric underneath keeps it from sinking into the soil.
Bulk aggregate, soil, sand, and mulch are not returnable once delivered. Use the calculator and round up slightly if your measurements are close.
