Local Insights
Old Gladespring has a small-town scale (population 1,000) but sits within a metro region that supports continued development, with a metro population of 2.6+ million and a growth rate of 2.40% annually. That steady growth translates into more residential renovations, driveway and patio updates, and small-scale infrastructure work by homeowners and local contractors. The local climate and geography — about 228 sunny days per year and roughly 34.25 inches of annual rainfall in a hardiness zone of 8b — mean projects must balance sun exposure with occasional heavy rain. For practical planning, that elevates the importance of well-draining base layers, erosion-control fills, and quality topsoils and mulches that can tolerate wet-dry cycles. Homeowners benefit from sourcing measured, regionally appropriate bulk materials (gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and stone) so installations perform reliably over time.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Homeowners typically order a mix of common aggregates such as gravel, sand, dirt, stone for driveways, grading, and landscaping. These materials come in different sizes and textures, so choose based on the project—stabilizing base layers, top dressing, or decorative finishes. Regional sourcing means appearance and gradation may vary around Old Gladespring, so check photos and ask your supplier for local samples.
Pick a material based on function: durable, compacting materials for driveways, looser, permeable options for drainage areas, and finer materials for top dressing or planting beds. Consider load, slope, and drainage needs and ask suppliers about recommended base and topping combinations. If unsure, use Hello Gravel’s material quiz or contact the sales team for guidance tailored to your property.
