While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Material choice depends on use, budget, and appearance. For load-bearing areas and driveways choose a denser, larger aggregate mix; for walkways and flower beds choose finer materials that drain well. Due to regional sourcing, gravel, sand, dirt, stone will vary in texture and color around Old River-Winfree, so review photos and ask suppliers about local characteristics before ordering.
Start with the problem you are solving: stabilize slopes, improve drainage, or update appearance. Coarser materials are better for drainage and erosion control while finer materials and clean dirt are better for grading and planting. If unsure, use our aggregate quiz or contact our team for recommendations based on the specific site and local climate.
Old River-Winfree experiences Texas heat, humidity, and periodic heavy rain, which can increase washout and settling. Expect faster drying and dust in hot weather and potential movement or rutting after strong storms. Choose materials and depths suited for local rainfall and plan for proper base compaction and drainage to extend performance.
Spring and fall are often the most reliable seasons for delivery and installation because weather is milder and there are fewer heavy storms. Summer heat can dry and shift materials quickly and late-season rains can delay work, so check forecasts and order early to avoid weather delays. Use our next-day delivery option for time-sensitive projects when available.

Calculate volume by multiplying length x width x depth to get cubic feet, then divide by 27 to convert to cubic yards. For weight, 1 cubic yard typically equals about 1.2 to 1.6 tons depending on material density, so check specific material estimates. Always order 5-10% extra for compaction and waste, or use our online material calculator for a quick estimate.
