While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Choose materials based on traffic, drainage, and site conditions rather than one single product. For La Villa, look for materials that compact well for a stable surface and allow water to drain away from the base; using a well-prepared base layer plus a durable surface layer usually gives the best results. Keep regional variation in mind since local suppliers source materials that reflect West Texas geology.
Calculate volume by multiplying length x width x depth (in feet) to get cubic feet, then divide by 27 to convert to cubic yards and use a material-specific conversion to tons. Allow 10-20% extra for compaction and waste, and use Hello Gravel’s online calculator or contact our team if you want help with conversions and quantities.
Delivery cost depends on material type, quantity ordered, distance from the supplier, job-site access, and delivery speed (standard vs next-day). Hello Gravel displays upfront pricing and you can check availability and exact delivery fees by entering your zip code; note minimum orders typically start at 3 tons.
Yes, our nationwide network includes local suppliers and haulers that may deliver to La Villa, but availability depends on your zip code and supplier coverage. Standard delivery is usually 2+ business days, with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee; deliveries are made by contracted dump trucks and not by Hello Gravel-branded trucks.
In hot, clay-rich areas, choose materials and build-ups that promote drainage and resist rutting and excessive compaction. Well-graded, free-draining aggregates as surface or base layers and proper base preparation help manage shifting clay and seasonal moisture; material performance will vary by local source so consult product specs and our team for recommendations.
Aim for milder seasons—spring and fall—when temperatures are more moderate and ground conditions are easier to work with. Summer heat and heavy rains can slow installation and affect compaction, but deliveries and work are possible year-round; book early to secure preferred dates and account for supplier schedules.
Use coarse, well-draining aggregate layers, properly graded slopes, and retaining edges or swales to direct water away from structures. For steeper or erosion-prone sites, combine aggregates with geotextile fabric, vegetation, or hard edging to stabilize soil; exact choices depend on slope, soil type, and project goals.
Both have roles: sand is useful for leveling and setting pavers because it compacts tightly, while coarser aggregate drains better and resists shifting for paths and driveways. The best option depends on function, slope, and desired maintenance—sometimes a blend or layered approach is ideal.
Yes, recycled and crushed materials are often available and can lower upfront costs while reducing maintenance needs when used appropriately. Verify local availability, confirm suitability for your application, and ask our team about material characteristics and expected performance in your area.
Deliveries are made by dump trucks (typically tri-axle), so you’ll need clear, stable access and room for trucks to safely enter, maneuver, and dump. Note the 3-ton minimum, indicate preferred drop location and special instructions at checkout, and request tailgate spreading if desired—drivers will assess feasibility on arrival but spreading is not guaranteed.
Labor and installation costs vary with project size, site prep needs, slope, material handling, and local labor rates. Prepare to budget for excavation, grading, base preparation, compaction, and finishing; get multiple contractor quotes and factor those costs into your total project estimate before ordering materials.
Because materials are regionally sourced, color, texture, and particle mix can vary from photos or samples. Contact Hello Gravel as soon as possible to request order changes or report issues; we will work with you and the local supplier to address concerns, but modifications depend on processing status and local supplier policies.
