Local Insights
Addison has a population of 14,020 and sits within a broader metro area population of 2.5+ million. A steady annual growth rate of 0.70% points to consistent, manageable demand for home improvement, infill construction, and outdoor upgrades rather than boom-era surges. With 228 sunny days each year and annual rainfall of 34.80 inches—plus plant hardiness zone 8b—local projects must balance sun-tolerant landscaping with reliable drainage. That combination drives demand for a range of bulk materials: topsoil and soil blends for planting, sand and gravels for improved drainage, and sturdier aggregates for driveways, pathways, and patios. Quality, regionally sourced materials help homes withstand intense sun, occasional heavy rains, and the performance needs of growing neighborhoods.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Start with the project's function: weight-bearing surfaces need a stable, compactable base while decorative areas prioritize color and texture. Consider local climate—materials that drain well are best where heavy summer rains occur—and HOA or neighborhood aesthetic rules. Use Hello Gravel's material calculator and quiz for guidance, and contact our team for recommendations based on your site and budget.
West Texas brings hot, dry summers and occasional heavy thunderstorms, so plan delivery and installation outside of extreme heat and storm windows to avoid material washout or poor compaction. Spring and fall are often best for spreading and compacting aggregates, and allow extra time after rain for site drying. If you need fast delivery, select the next-day option when available and check the forecast before scheduling.
Standard delivery typically takes 2+ business days; next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Minimum orders generally start at 3 tons, and delivery is by regional dump trucks operated by contracted haulers. Choose your preferred delivery date at checkout and add order notes for placement instructions; drivers may provide tailgate spreading at their discretion.
Clear the delivery area of vehicles, low branches, and obstacles that could block a truck or dump. Mark the exact drop spot with visible flags or stakes and confirm access for a tri-axle dump truck; if space is tight, add detailed notes at checkout. Protect nearby plants or hardscapes with plywood if the truck must back up close to them.
Many projects require approval from homeowners associations or local authorities, especially for visible driveway changes or hardscape additions. Contact your HOA and the Town of Addison's building or planning department to confirm rules, set-backs, and any permit requirements before ordering materials. Hello Gravel can help with quantity planning but cannot advise on specific permit decisions.
Measure the length, width, and desired depth of the area and use Hello Gravel's online calculator to convert cubic feet to tons or cubic yards for common aggregates. When in doubt, add 5-10% extra for compaction, grading, and waste on irregular sites. Contact our sales team with project dimensions for a quick review if you prefer help.
Prices vary by material type, local supplier rates, and trucking distance; regional sourcing means costs reflect local geology and availability. Hello Gravel shows transparent pricing in the checkout for your zip code (75001) and offers free delivery in many areas or clear delivery fees when applicable. For exact per-ton or per-cubic-yard costs, get an online quote or contact our team.
Contractors typically weigh durability, compaction qualities, drainage needs, and local soil conditions when selecting materials. They also plan for proper base layers, edging, and maintenance to extend performance in West Texas heat and seasonal storms. Hello Gravel supports contractors with bulk pricing, fast ordering, and delivery scheduling to match job timelines.
Because Hello Gravel sources regionally, texture and color can vary from online photos; natural materials reflect local geology. If a delivered material doesn't meet your expectations, contact customer service promptly with photos and order details so we can review options and help resolve the issue. Review our refund and issue-resolution guidance on the website for next steps.
Contact our team as soon as possible to request changes; modifications are easier before the order is processed or dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate date, quantity, or material swaps but cannot guarantee all changes, especially after dispatch. For urgent changes on delivery day, provide clear instructions and consider contacting the driver if that contact is available.
