Local Insights
Hominy homeowners face a localized construction and landscaping market shaped by scale and climate. With a city population of 2,590 and located inside a metro area population of 2.3+ million, local demand tends to follow steady, incremental patterns rather than rapid expansion — the area's growth rate of 0.40% annually points to steady renovation and targeted new builds. That means many projects are homeowner-driven: driveway repairs, yard regrades, planting beds, small retaining walls, and hardscaping upgrades that all require reliable bulk materials. The climate—228 sunny days per year, an annual rainfall of 33.50 inches, and hardiness zone 8b—creates a need for materials that manage both sun and moisture. Homeowners benefit from buying bulk gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and stone to control cost, ensure consistency across a project, and select particle sizes and mixes that deliver proper drainage, erosion control, and long-term durability in Hominy's conditions.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Delivery cost depends on the material, how much you order, and the distance from the supplier. Hello Gravel has a minimum order (typically 3 tons) and standard delivery is 2+ business days, with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Your checkout quote shows exact delivery fees for your ZIP code (74035).
Price is driven by material type, local availability, processing or screening, and hauling distance. Local geology in and around Hominy means texture and color vary, which can change cost slightly. For exact per-cubic-yard or per-ton pricing, use the site quote or contact our team for an itemized estimate.
A typical tri-axle dump truck carries about 10–12 cubic yards, but the weight and cost depend on the material. To estimate: multiply the truck volume by the quoted price per cubic yard, and then add any delivery fees or access charges. Remember minimums and driver access rules may affect whether a truck can safely unload at your driveway.
One cubic yard of aggregate generally equals about 27–32 50 lb bags depending on material density. For small DIY projects bags can be convenient, but for any sizable project bulk delivery is almost always cheaper and faster. If you need help deciding, calculate the total volume and compare the total bagged cost to a bulk quote.
Cost per ton varies by material and regional supply, so there is no single fixed price. To get an accurate delivered price for 1 ton to Hominy (ZIP 74035), request a quote on the site or call our sales team. The quote will factor in material type, availability, and delivery logistics.
Typical minimums start around 3 tons, and standard delivery lead time is 2+ business days. Extra fees may apply for next-day service, very small orders, long drives, off-route deliveries, or special handling requests. If your driveway is narrow, unpaved, or in a rural spot, let us know at checkout so we can advise on any added charges or equipment needed.
Suppliers and haulers may assess additional charges when access is difficult or when alternate trucks are required. Drivers will assess safety and access on arrival, and some jobs may need a smaller truck, additional labor, or staging on a public road. Provide access details and photos up front to get the most accurate cost and avoid surprises.
Hello Gravel offers a range of materials sourced regionally, including common categories like screened, crushed, fill, and decorative options for gravel, sand, dirt, stone. Prices differ based on processing, screening, rock type, and local availability; processed decorative blends usually cost more than basic bulk fill. Use the material quiz or contact sales to match a material to your project and budget.
Many suppliers offer lower unit pricing on larger orders, and seasonal supply and demand can affect price. Promotions and discounts may be available from time to time, and our team can check for volume pricing on orders covering multiple truckloads. Contact sales for the best pricing on large or recurring orders.
Measure the length and width of the area in feet, choose the desired depth in inches, then use this formula: (length x width x depth in inches) / 324 = cubic yards needed. Add 5–10% for compaction and waste, then convert cubic yards to tons if you need weight-based pricing (density varies by material). Use our online material calculator or contact us with your dimensions and project type for help.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed and depends on safety, site access, and local rules. Request tailgate spreading at checkout and be prepared for the driver to assess feasibility on arrival. If spreading is essential, consider hiring a local laborer or contractor to ensure the job is completed to your expectations.
Natural materials vary by region, so color and texture may differ from photos; if the material looks different than expected, contact customer service promptly. For order changes, notify us as soon as possible — we will do our best to accommodate requests before the order is processed or dispatched. See our refund policy and reach out to our team for help resolving issues.
