Local Insights
Billings has a city population of 370 and sits within a wider metro area population of 2.3+ million. A modest growth rate of 0.40% annually points to steady, incremental development rather than rapid expansion, which translates into predictable, ongoing demand for landscaping and construction materials — think driveway repairs, yard upgrades, and small-scale building projects rather than large, sudden construction booms. With hardiness zone 8b, 228 sunny days per year, and annual rainfall of 33.50 inches, local conditions favor materials that balance UV resistance, drainage, and heat tolerance. Homeowners in this environment often choose low-maintenance solutions, erosion-control measures, and stable base materials to handle long stretches of sun and episodes of heavier rain. Because regional sourcing reflects local geology, having reliable access to bulk supplies of gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and stone helps ensure projects perform well and look consistent with the landscape.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Homeowners and contractors in Billings commonly use gravel, sand, dirt, and stone for driveways, paths, base layers, raised beds, and grading. The right choice depends on the project: durability and compaction for driveways, drainage for beds and walkways, and appearance for visible surfaces. Use our material calculator or contact our team to match material properties to your intended use.
Billings is in West Oklahoma, so consider hot summers, occasional freezes, and local soil types when choosing materials. Prioritize materials that drain well, compact appropriately for your application, and tolerate periodic freeze-thaw cycles; regional sourcing means local materials are already suited to nearby conditions. If you are unsure, our sales team can recommend options based on your project and zip code.
Quantities are measured in cubic yards or tons; Hello Gravel has a 3-ton minimum order. Measure the area and desired depth, use our online calculator for an instant estimate, and contact us if you need help converting between cubic yards and tons. When in doubt, add a small overage for compaction and grading.
Standard delivery is typically 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Deliveries are made by contracted dump truck fleets (usually tri-axle), and drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion. Schedule your preferred date at checkout and check zip code availability for service.
Hello Gravel has a 3-ton minimum order, and we work with contractors on repeat deliveries and larger orders that may qualify for volume pricing or preferred scheduling. For frequent deliveries or ongoing projects, contact our sales team to discuss account options, estimated timelines, and consolidated invoicing. Small or partial loads may be arranged in some areas—ask when you place your order.
Yes. Spring and fall are often the busiest seasons, which can increase lead times and truck availability; extreme heat in summer can affect handling of some materials. Plan major projects in advance, especially during peak landscaping months, and allow extra time for scheduling deliveries. We can advise on best timing for your specific project.
Possibly. Local city or county rules, driveway permits, road access restrictions, and HOA covenants can affect acceptable materials, delivery locations, and unloading methods. Check with Billings city hall, the county, or your HOA before ordering, and add any permit or access notes in your order so drivers can plan accordingly. Our team can also remind you to verify local rules when you place an order.
Natural materials vary regionally, so texture and color may differ from photos; we encourage customers to note preferences at checkout but cannot guarantee exact matches. Contact our customer service as soon as possible to request changes—modifications are easiest before dispatch but may not always be possible. If there are issues on delivery, report them promptly and we will work to resolve them according to our policies.
