Local Insights
New Albany is a community of 25,850 residents, and its steady expansion — at about 2.33% growth annually — is driving ongoing demand for residential and small-scale commercial projects. That growth means more driveways, patios, drainage upgrades, garden renovations, and foundation prep across neighborhoods. Local climate and geography — a gardening hardiness zone of 8b with 228 sunny days per year and 33.00 inches of annual rainfall — favor outdoor living but also create specific material needs: good drainage layers, durable base materials that resist seasonal wet-dry cycles, and soil amendments that support drought-tolerant plantings. For homeowners, that translates into choosing bulk supplies that balance stability, permeability, and appearance. Quality aggregates, soils, and mulches sourced regionally help properties handle runoff, support plantings adapted to local sun exposure, and provide long-lasting surfaces for everyday use.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Yes. We deliver bulk materials to New Albany (43054) and surrounding zip codes when we have supplier coverage in the area. Our minimum order is 3 tons; standard delivery is 2+ business days and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Delivery fees vary by zip code—many New Albany locations qualify for free delivery—so check your zip code at checkout or contact our team for an exact quote.
Start by matching the material characteristics to your project goals: durability and drainage for driveways, weed suppression and moisture retention for beds, and grading or erosion control for yards. Because regional sourcing affects texture and color, consider samples or photos to confirm appearance. If you are unsure, use our material quiz or contact our team for recommendations that consider local climate, soil, and traffic conditions.
Quantities depend on area and depth: a 2-car driveway (about 400 sq ft) typically needs roughly 4 to 8 cubic yards depending on depth (3u0022 to 6u0022). For garden beds, 2 to 3 inches of coverage is common—about 0.6 to 0.9 cubic yards per 100 sq ft. Use our online material calculator or request a virtual measurement/quote for a customized estimate based on your New Albany property.
Yes. We offer an online material calculator for instant estimates and can provide virtual quotes based on photos, satellite measurements, or project details you submit. In-person measurements may be arranged in some cases, depending on project size and local supplier availability. Contact the sales team to discuss which option makes the most sense for your job.
For most medium to large projects, bulk delivery is more cost-effective than buying many bags because you pay by ton or cubic yard and avoid per-bag premiums. For very small patch jobs, bagged products can be more convenient despite higher per-unit cost. We can help you compare costs for your specific New Albany project so you get the best balance of price and convenience.
Our deliveries are made by contracted dump truck fleets; drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion and you can request it at checkout, but spreading is not guaranteed. Full installation, grading, or removal of old mulch/soil is typically handled by local contractors—if you need labor we can connect you with partners or recommend how to find installers in New Albany. Labor rates and availability vary by job size and season, so get an estimate before scheduling.
Yes, many local suppliers offer premium materials such as colored mulches, decorative gravels, and specialty stones that suit upscale landscapes. Samples or small test quantities may be available through suppliers—ask at checkout or contact our sales team to arrange samples when possible. Keep in mind appearance and texture can vary regionally, so samples help ensure the material matches your design.
Standard delivery lead time is 2+ business days after ordering; next-day delivery is possible for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Weekend or evening deliveries may be available in some areas depending on local hauler schedules; you can choose your preferred delivery date during checkout. We confirm delivery details before dispatch but cannot promise exact arrival times.
Yes. We support commercial and large-estate deliveries as well as recurring orders for landscapers, HOAs, and property managers in New Albany. Contact our commercial sales team with project details so we can coordinate volume pricing, delivery logistics, and regular scheduling. Large jobs may require staging or special equipment, so allow extra lead time for planning.
Local city codes and HOA rules can affect material choices, driveway surfacing, and truck access; restrictions vary by neighborhood. We recommend checking New Albany city regulations and your HOA covenants before ordering. While we can offer general guidance and point you to common considerations, obtaining permits and ensuring compliance is the customer's responsibility; we can help provide documentation or supplier details if needed.
