Local Insights
Lyons is a small but active community of 1,420 residents within a broader metro area of 2.6+ million, and its steady 2.33% annual growth translates into a reliable, ongoing need for residential and infrastructure work. That steady expansion means more driveways, yard renovations, and small-scale construction projects, so homeowners and contractors alike need predictable access to bulk materials. Lyons' climate — hardiness zone 8b with 228/year sunny days and about 33.00 inches of rain annually — supports year-round outdoor activity but creates material-specific demands: good drainage to handle moderate rain, UV- and dust-resistant surfaces for frequent sun exposure, and mixes that compact consistently in milder winter conditions. Choosing quality, locally sourced aggregates, soils, and mulches helps projects settle correctly, resist erosion, and fit the visual character of the area, reducing rework and extending the life of landscapes and hardscapes.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Consider the job's purpose (driveway, path, drainage, or filler), how much load it must bear, appearance preferences, and drainage needs. Materials are regionally sourced in Lyons so texture and color vary; use our material calculator or contact our team for recommendations that match local conditions and your budget.
Measure length, width, and desired depth in feet and multiply to get cubic feet, then divide by 27 to get cubic yards. Convert cubic yards to tons varies by material density, but a common rule of thumb is about 1.2–1.6 tons per cubic yard; contact us if you want a quick estimate for gravel, sand, dirt, stone or mixtures.
Dump truck capacity varies by truck and material density; tri-axle trucks commonly used for deliveries usually carry roughly 10–15 tons per load. Actual tons depend on local weight limits and the specific material, so we provide exact load details when you request a quote.
Price depends on the material type, local supply and demand, distance from the supplier, and the size of your order. Seasonal demand, site access and any required permits can also add costs; use our online quote tool or contact our sales team for an up-to-date price for gravel, sand, dirt, stone and blends.
Costs depend on material choice, desired depth, and haul distance. For a 1,000 sq ft area at 3 inches deep, you'll need about 9–10 cubic yards (roughly 11–16 tons depending on material), and final cost will depend on the per-ton price plus delivery and any site prep—request a quote for an accurate estimate.
Lower-cost options often include locally available base materials or fines produced from crushing, but the cheapest option may not meet drainage or load-bearing needs. Balance upfront cost with long-term performance; our team can suggest economical materials that still suit Lyons’ climate and your project's needs.
We connect you with local suppliers and contracted dump truck haulers; standard delivery requires 2+ business days and we have a 3-ton minimum order. Next-day delivery is an option for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee, and drivers may perform tailgate spreading at their discretion.
Tailgate spreading may be available and can be requested at checkout, but drivers will only spread if it can be done safely at their discretion. We recommend planning for some distribution or hiring local labor for precise spreading and grading.
Contact our team as soon as possible; changes are easier to accommodate before the order is dispatched and depend on supplier and truck schedules. We will do our best to help, but final adjustments depend on processing status and local supplier policies.
Local geology, freeze-thaw cycles and drainage patterns in the West Ohio area affect how materials settle and perform over time. Because we source regionally, we recommend materials suited to the local climate; our team can advise on options that reduce maintenance and improve longevity.
