Local Insights
Feli City, Ohio, is home to 120,000 residents and sits inside a metro area of 2.6+ million people that is growing steadily at about 2.33% annually. That steady expansion translates into consistent demand for residential and light-commercial projects — new builds, driveway and pathway repairs, landscape updates, and smaller infrastructure work. With 228 sunny days per year and 33.00 inches of annual rainfall in hardiness zone 8b, local projects need materials that balance sun exposure and periodic wet weather: well-draining bases to prevent puddling, stable aggregates for load-bearing surfaces, and quality soils or organic blends for planting areas. Because regional sourcing affects color and texture, homeowners should consider both performance and appearance when choosing sand, dirt, mulch, stone, and other bulk materials to reduce rework and extend project life.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Start by matching the material to the project use: materials for driveways need good compaction and drainage, while patio and walkway materials prioritize appearance and a stable surface. Consider local climate (freeze-thaw and wet seasons) and how much maintenance you want to do. Use our material quiz or contact our team to compare options like gravel, sand, dirt, and stone in plain terms for your specific site.
Feli City is in a region with wet springs, occasional heavy rain, and winter freeze-thaw cycles that can affect compaction and drainage. Choose materials that drain well for wet seasons and that tolerate freeze-thaw movement for winter. Plan deliveries around muddy or frozen ground when possible to avoid site access problems and extra spreading work.
Measure the area (length x width) and decide the depth you need, then convert to cubic yards and to tons using our online calculator or the material calculator at checkout. For small residential jobs, we require a minimum order of 3 tons. If you need help, send measurements or photos and our team can give a quick estimate.
We serve a wide range of projects from residential landscaping and garden beds to driveways, drainage trenches, patios, and small commercial jobs. Materials like gravel, sand, dirt, and stone are commonly used for base layers, grading, topdressing, and erosion control. If you have a specific project, describe it and we will recommend suitable material options and typical quantities.
Standard delivery typically requires 2+ business days from order, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Choose your preferred date in the checkout calendar and we will confirm timing with a local supplier and hauler. Exact arrival windows are not guaranteed, so plan some flexibility on the delivery day.
Yes, we can often deliver to residential sites with challenging access, but truck size and safety limit how close drivers can get. Deliveries are usually made by tri-axle dump trucks, so clear turning and unloading space may be required. Add delivery notes and photos at checkout so our hauler can assess access and advise on the best drop location.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this service is not guaranteed. Request tailgate spreading at checkout and the driver will assess if it can be done safely upon arrival. Plan to arrange additional labor if you need graded or finished surfaces beyond basic spreading.
Materials are sourced locally, so texture, color, and grain size can vary based on local geology. These natural variations affect appearance and, sometimes, how materials compact or drain. If color or texture is important, note your preferences in Order Notes or request photos before delivery, and remember exact matches to images are not guaranteed.
Permit requirements vary by municipality and project type; small deliveries for landscaping usually do not need permits, but large fill projects, grading changes, or work in floodplains may. Check local Feli City ordinances and homeowners association rules before ordering, and contact our team if you need guidance on typical permit issues. We cannot obtain permits on your behalf, but we can advise what information haulers typically need.
Pricing typically includes the material cost per ton or per cubic yard plus any delivery fees and add-ons like next-day service or special access charges. Factors that affect price include material type, quantity, distance from local supplier, site access difficulty, and requested delivery date. Get a quote through our site to see transparent pricing for your zip code and project.
Contact our team as soon as possible—changes are easier before the order is processed and dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but modifications depend on supplier and hauler schedules. See our refund policy for details and contact customer service for the fastest help.
Yes, contractors can order bulk quantities and schedule deliveries to fit project timelines; we work with commercial customers and contractors regularly. Larger or recurring orders may require extra lead time and coordination with local suppliers and trucking fleets. Contact our sales team for volume needs, scheduling, and potential account options.
Clear the planned drop zone of vehicles and obstacles, mark utilities if needed, and provide gates or locks codes in Order Notes. For leftover material, store it on a stable, level surface to avoid contamination and erosion; cover loose material if rain or wind is expected. If you need help cleaning up or distributing material, consider hiring local labor or requesting tailgate spreading when available.
