Local Insights
Lebanon Township, with a city population of 6,000, sits in a regional market that contributes to steady local demand: the surrounding metro area population of 2.5+ million and a growth rate of 0.69% annually mean homeowners can expect gradual increases in renovation, driveway, drainage, and yard-improvement projects rather than rapid suburban sprawl. Local climate—about 152 sunny days per year and annual rainfall of 33.00 inches—together with Hardiness Zone 8b create a preference for materials that manage both moisture and heat. That translates into practical needs for well-graded soils and clean fill for grading, permeable aggregates and sands for drainage, and organic mulches and topsoils that support plant establishment under temperate seasonal cycles. Choosing quality, regionally sourced bulk materials helps projects perform reliably in Lebanon Township’s specific environment.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Order online through our platform and choose a delivery date. We connect you with a local supplier and a contracted dump truck fleet; drivers typically use tri-axle trucks and will dump materials where you direct them, subject to site access and safety. We require 2 business days for standard delivery and offer next-day delivery for orders placed before noon CST (additional fee). Please note minimum orders start at 3 tons.
Start with the project goal: drainage, walkability, load-bearing, or appearance. For many jobs you can choose from gravel, sand, dirt, stone and similar aggregates; consider particle size, compaction needs, and local climate in Lebanon Township when deciding. Use our material quiz or call our team for recommendations based on your project and site conditions.
Measure the area (length x width) and decide on a target depth in inches, then convert to cubic yards (area in square feet x depth in inches ÷ 324). Different materials weigh differently, so convert cubic yards to tons if you need weight-based orders; our online calculator can do this for you. If you are unsure, order a little extra (5-10%) to allow for compaction and grading.
Buying bulk is usually cheaper per cubic yard than bagged material, especially for larger projects, because you avoid packaging and handling costs. Bulk requires space for truck access and a place to dump material, so factor in delivery logistics and any spreading labor. For small decorative jobs, bagged material can be more convenient despite a higher per-volume cost.
Prices depend on the material type, volume or tonnage, distance from the supplier, and local availability in the New Jersey region. Because density varies, a truckload measured by tons can contain different cubic yards depending on the material. Use our online estimator or request a quote for a precise delivered price to Lebanon Township.
Truck capacity varies by truck type and material density. A common tri-axle dump truck can carry roughly 10 to 12 cubic yards of loose material, which may weigh 12 to 20 tons depending on whether the material is light (mulch) or heavy (stone or dense dirt). If you need an exact number, tell us the material and we will provide a delivery estimate.
A single cubic yard may physically fit in many pickup beds, but weight limits are the limiting factor; one cubic yard of some materials can weigh over a ton. Check your truck's payload rating before loading and consider professional delivery if you need more than a small amount or if weight is a concern.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion and when it can be done safely; request this service at checkout and the driver will assess on arrival. We cannot guarantee spreading services, and complex spreading or finish grading is best handled by a landscaper or contractor. Always clear the delivery area and call out any underground utilities or obstacles before delivery.
Materials are regionally sourced, so color, texture, and particle size can vary based on local geology in the New Jersey region. Photos are representative; exact matches cannot be guaranteed. If color or texture is especially important, note preferences in your order notes and contact our team to discuss local supplier options.
Contact our customer service team as soon as possible; changes are easier to accommodate before the order is processed or dispatched. We will do our best to modify orders, but changes are subject to supplier and trucking schedules and cannot be guaranteed. Check the order confirmation for next steps and timelines.
Yes. Keep application depths appropriate to the material and purpose: for example, light topdressing or mulch is different from deep base material for driveways. Follow general rules like avoiding over-application that can smother plants or prevent drainage, and consult product guidance or our team for recommended depths based on your project.
Any organic material left on the ground can attract insects or rodents if it is moist or placed against building foundations. Store and apply mulch or compost properly, avoid piling against siding, and replace or turn materials if you notice pest activity. If you have specific pest concerns, consult a local extension office or pest control professional.
New Jersey weather affects scheduling and material performance; frozen ground or wet conditions can delay work and make delivery or spreading harder. Plan deliveries for dry periods when possible, especially for grading or driveway base work, and order early in the season to secure preferred delivery dates. We offer standard 2 business day lead time and next-day options for eligible orders placed before noon CST.
If the material appears different than expected, contact customer service promptly and provide photos and details; we will work with the supplier to resolve the issue in line with our policies. Remember that natural materials vary due to regional sourcing and that color and texture may differ from images. See our order and issue resolution guidance for next steps.
