Local Insights
Haskell homeowners face steady, practical demand for landscaping and construction materials as the town’s city population is 4,410, set within a broader metro area population of 2.5+ million. With a measured annual growth rate of 1.20%, this is the kind of steady expansion that drives ongoing maintenance, landscaping refreshes, and incremental building projects rather than a sudden boom. Haskell's temperate setting (hardiness zone 8b), average annual rainfall of 34.32 inches, and 228 sunny days per year shape the kinds of materials that perform best: well-graded soils and topsoils for planting areas, mulches for moisture retention, sand and gravel for stable drainage and paths, and appropriately graded base materials for driveways and hardscapes. Homeowners benefit from locally sourced bulk supplies that reflect regional geology and resist erosion, manage runoff, and support seasonal plantings.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Start by matching the material properties to the project: think about drainage, required compaction, and the look you want. For vehicle areas choose a more compactable base, while decorative beds or walkways can use coarser, decorative mixes. Use our material calculator or contact our team for recommendations based on your specific project and local conditions.
Haskell sees freeze-thaw cycles, heavy rains, and snow that affect compaction, drainage, and shipment timing. Avoid scheduling major deliveries during storms or when ground is saturated, and consider materials that tolerate wet winters if you need long-term stability. Delivery windows can also change in bad weather, so plan extra time in winter and early spring.
Measure the area (length x width) and decide on the desired depth, then convert that volume to cubic yards and tons using our online calculator. As a rule, add about 5-10% extra for compaction and waste on most projects. If you prefer, send dimensions or photos to our sales team and we can help confirm quantities.
Standard delivery is 2+ business days from order, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Availability can vary by zip code and local supplier schedules, so you will receive a confirmed delivery date after checkout. For tight timelines, book early and select the next-day option if eligible.
Most deliveries are made by tri-axle dump trucks, so narrow streets, low-hanging wires, soft driveways, steep grades, or limited turnaround space can limit where a truck can dump. Drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion but cannot guarantee it for every site. Provide access notes at checkout and consider offloading points or smaller trucks if access is restricted.
Some local rules, HOA requirements, curb-cut regulations, or street-parking restrictions may apply depending on the delivery location. Large truck deliveries to public streets sometimes require a permit or coordination with your municipality. Check local zoning or HOA guidelines and note any restrictions when placing your order so we can coordinate with suppliers and haulers.
Costs depend on material type, distance to the nearest supplier, order size, and whether spreading is requested. Small residential deliveries including material and transport commonly range from a couple of hundred dollars to several hundred dollars, but your actual quote will vary; request a quote at checkout for an accurate price. Tailgate spreading may incur an extra fee or be performed at the driver’s discretion, so confirm options when ordering.
Because we source materials regionally, color, texture, and grain size can vary based on local geology and supplier batches. Expect natural variation and use order notes to request a color preference, but exact matches to photos cannot be guaranteed. If appearance is critical, ask for a nearby sample or consult our sales team before ordering.
Our materials are commonly used for driveways, drainage improvements, garden beds, patios, paver bases, and utility or foundation backfill. We support both homeowner and contractor projects and can advise on appropriate materials and quantities for each use. For larger or specialized commercial jobs, contact our team for scheduling and logistics guidance.
Contact our team as soon as possible — changes are easiest before the order is processed or dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate modifications, but ability to change or cancel depends on supplier and truck schedules. For specific policies on refunds or credits, see our order terms or reach out to customer service at 855-241-8884 or text 844-407-3734.
