Local Insights
Evesham is a growing suburban community with a population of 30,000, located within a West New Jersey metro area that includes 2.5+ million residents. A steady 1.20% annual growth rate means ongoing homebuilding, renovations, and landscape improvements—the kind of steady demand that keeps driveways, patios, gardens, and outdoor living projects active year-round. With 228 sunny days per year, 34.32 inches of annual rainfall, and placement in hardiness zone 8b, homeowners need materials that handle alternating wet and dry conditions. That combination emphasizes the importance of durable base materials, moisture-retaining topsoils, and erosion-control aggregates. Projects trending here—low-maintenance hardscapes, improved drainage features, and native planting beds—depend on timely delivery of quality bulk supplies such as gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and stone, since material choice directly affects longevity, drainage performance, and upkeep frequency.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

For driveways and walkways in Evesham, choose a material based on use, budget, and maintenance. A compactable base material topped with decorative aggregates usually works well; gravel, sand, dirt, stone and mixtures can all be used depending on desired look and drainage. Consider traffic levels and winter maintenance—materials that compact and shed water perform better in freeze-thaw cycles. If you are unsure, use our material quiz or contact our team for a recommendation.
Measure the length, width, and desired depth of the area to calculate volume, then convert to tons using a material calculator. Different materials compact and weigh differently, so plan for a small overage (5-10%) to account for settling and trimming. Use our online calculator or contact support with your dimensions and project type for a quick estimate.
Key cost factors include the amount of material, distance from local suppliers, delivery timing, and any special access or offloading needs. Standard delivery pricing typically assumes a tri-axle dump truck and a minimum order (our platform generally requires a 3-ton minimum); next-day delivery and tailgate spreading may carry extra fees. Labor for spreading, grading, or compaction is a separate cost if you hire a contractor or request driver assistance.
In Evesham's climate, pick materials that cope with wet springs, occasional freeze-thaw, and variable drainage needs. Well-draining aggregates and properly graded base layers help prevent pooling and frost heave; gravel, sand, dirt, stone and blends can be chosen to emphasize drainage or compaction. Regional sourcing means local products are already adapted to nearby soils, so ask about local mixes when ordering.
We work with local suppliers and typically deliver by dump truck with a minimum order of 3 tons. Standard delivery is usually 2+ business days, with next-day delivery available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee; confirm availability for your zip code. Make sure the truck can access your site, provide clear drop-off instructions in Order Notes, and note that tailgate spreading is at the driver's discretion.
Schedule deliveries outside of the busiest seasons when possible; spring and early fall are popular for landscaping while winter can limit access or compaction. Aim to order a few weeks ahead for larger projects and allow extra lead time during peak season or after heavy rain. If weather or ground conditions look poor, contact our team to discuss rescheduling or staging options.
Select materials based on function: promote drainage with coarser, well-draining aggregates and slow erosion with denser fills and proper grading. Combining products—such as a compactable base plus a drainage layer—often gives the best long-term performance; gravel, sand, dirt, stone and engineered mixes can be used in layered systems. Consider slope, runoff paths, and planting plans, and consult with a contractor or our sales team for site-specific recommendations.
We coordinate delivery of bulk materials but do not provide general installation or landscaping contractor services directly; some drivers may offer limited tailgate spreading at their discretion. For full installation, grading, compaction, or permitting help, we recommend hiring a local contractor experienced with local conditions. Our team can help connect you with common project specs so you can share clear requirements with installers.
Natural materials vary by region, so color and texture may differ from online images; you can add color or appearance notes at checkout. Contact us as soon as possible to request changes or cancellations; we will attempt to accommodate requests before the order is processed and dispatched, but changes cannot always be guaranteed. If there are quality concerns on delivery, please contact customer service promptly and follow the instructions in our order communications.
DIY homeowners often order moderate amounts for garden beds, paths, or small driveways and may request tailgate drops for ease, while contractors order larger volumes, schedule precise delivery windows, and coordinate crews for spreading and compaction. Both benefit from planning quantities, access, and timing; contractors may request specific local mixes or larger trucks for efficiency. If you are uncertain which approach fits your project, call our team for guidance on material selection and delivery planning.
