Local Insights
Moore is a small city (city population: 560) within a larger regional market (metro area population: 2.5+ million). Its steady growth—about 1.90% annually—drives consistent, localized construction and landscaping demand: homeowners and contractors are likely to tackle driveway repairs, yard remodels, small infill projects, and municipal maintenance as the community expands. The local climate, with 228 sunny days annually and moderate precipitation averaging 34.25 inches per year, and a hardiness zone of 8b, shapes which bulk materials perform best. In practice that means a focus on materials that balance drainage, stability, and plant establishment: well-graded base layers, durable surface coverings, engineered soils, and erosion-control mixes. Regional sourcing reflects local geology, so homeowners benefit from choosing materials and quantities that match site slope, expected traffic, and seasonal wet-dry cycles rather than off-the-shelf assumptions.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Choose based on the project's purpose: load-bearing surfaces need more structural aggregates, while landscaping focuses on appearance and drainage. Consider local climate and drainage, then pick from gravel, sand, dirt, stone as appropriate. Use our material calculator or contact our team for help matching materials to your specific project.
Materials perform differently in freeze-thaw conditions depending on gradation and compaction, so choose well-graded aggregates and plan for good drainage. Regional sourcing means materials reflect local geology, which can affect frost susceptibility. For critical load-bearing or paved areas, consider professional compaction and drainage measures.
For rural and steep sites, prioritize materials that compact well and provide traction, and plan layers for drainage and stability. In many projects a combination of gravel, sand, dirt, stone is used to create a stable base and a wearing surface. Expect extra planning for access and erosion control on steep slopes.
Measure the area (length x width x depth) and use our online material calculator for a quick estimate, or contact our team for help. Keep in mind our minimum order is 3 tons, so adjust quantities accordingly. We can help convert your measurements into tons and advise on reasonable depths for different uses.
Hello Gravel serves Moore (zip 59464) and surrounding zip codes in the West Montana area, though availability can vary by location and supplier. Check your zip code on our site or contact us to confirm service to your address. Delivery timing is typically 2+ business days for standard orders, with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee.
Deliveries are made by contracted dump truck fleets (typically tri-axle) and require sufficient access and room to turn and dump. Tailgate spreading may be available at the driver's discretion if requested at checkout, but it is not guaranteed. For steep, narrow, or long-driveway drops, extra fees or smaller trucks may be required—discuss access details when ordering.
Because we source materials regionally, texture, color, and size can vary with local geology, so your delivery may not match photos exactly. This natural variation is normal for gravel, sand, dirt, stone. You can add color or appearance notes at checkout and contact customer service if you have concerns after delivery.
Plan deliveries for milder weather when ground access and compaction are easier; frozen or snow-covered sites can complicate placement and spreading. Standard delivery lead time is 2+ business days; if you need materials sooner, next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Schedule early in high-demand seasons to secure your preferred date.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion if you request it at checkout, but this service is not guaranteed and depends on safety and truck capabilities. For reliable spreading or finished grading, hire a local landscaper or contractor. We recommend noting any spreading needs in your order notes so drivers and suppliers are aware.
Pricing is transparent and generally includes the material cost plus delivery based on distance, access difficulty, and local supplier rates. Minimum orders and regional sourcing affect cost; our site shows upfront pricing and any applicable delivery fees before checkout. Contact our team for a detailed quote or to discuss bulk pricing for larger contractor orders.
Contractors in the area commonly order materials for driveways, erosion control, landscaping, drainage swales, and building foundations or backfill. Projects often use multiple materials—base layers for stability and different top layers for appearance or drainage—so combining gravel, sand, dirt, stone is common. Tell us the project type and we can recommend typical material mixes.
Contact our team as soon as possible—changes are easiest before an order is processed or dispatched, and we'll do our best to accommodate requests. Some order modifications may not be possible once a truck has been scheduled. For issues after delivery, contact customer service and see our refund policy for details.
