Local Insights
Webb is a small city with a population of 1,364 located within a regional metro footprint of 2.5+ million residents that is growing at about 1.85% annually. That steady expansion translates into ongoing demand for home improvement, landscaping, and light construction projects as homeowners upgrade driveways, add outdoor living areas, and respond to nearby development. Webb's climate—hardiness zone 8b with 228 sunny days per year and 34.25 inches of annual rainfall—creates a need for materials that balance drainage and durability. Homeowners benefit from bulk supplies that perform well in both wet periods and long sunny stretches: stable base materials for paths and driveways, soil blends and mulches for plant health, and aggregates that reflect local geology and site conditions.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Choose a material based on load, drainage, maintenance, and appearance rather than a single 'best' option. For Webb's conditions pick materials that drain well and resist washout, and pair a stable base layer with a suitable surface layer. Ask suppliers for local samples and use our material calculator to compare options for your budget and look.
Calculate area in square feet, decide the depth in inches, then use this formula: (area x depth) / 324 = cubic yards. Convert cubic yards to tons using a typical range of 1.2–1.6 tons per cubic yard depending on the material, and add 5–10% for compaction and waste. Remember Hello Gravel has a 3-ton minimum order, so check that when finalizing quantities.
In Webb's hot, humid climate choose materials that shed water and resist breakdown—coarse, well-graded aggregates typically hold up better than fine organic mixes. Keep in mind regional sourcing means texture and color will vary locally. For high-moisture areas consider materials that promote runoff and pair them with proper grading and drainage.
Plan deliveries for drier periods and allow time for materials to settle or dry after rain; avoid scheduling heavy work during seasons with frequent storms. Standard delivery requires 2+ business days and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Leave room in your schedule for site prep and possible weather delays.
Yes, Hello Gravel connects you with local suppliers who deliver within the Webb service area, including rural addresses, but access restrictions and extra fees can apply. Delivery is via contracted dump trucks that will assess site access on arrival. Provide clear access instructions and check your zip code for availability before ordering.
Cost varies by material type, quantity, distance from the supplier, site access, and any extra services like spreading. Hello Gravel shows transparent pricing and provides quotes based on your delivery address and amount; many areas qualify for free delivery but a next-day option or difficult access may add fees. Get an online quote or contact our team for an accurate estimate.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion; you can request it at checkout but it is not guaranteed for safety and access reasons. If you need precise spreading or grading, plan to have tools or a contractor ready to finish the job. We recommend noting any special instructions in your order notes so the driver can prepare.
For erosion control use heavier, coarse aggregates and anchoring methods that slow water flow, combine them with erosion control fabric, terracing, or vegetation to stabilize slopes. Project size, slope steepness, and local rainfall patterns will guide the best mix of materials and techniques. Consult with our team or a local contractor for steeper slopes or large areas to ensure long-term stability.
Most residential deliveries to private property do not require a permit, but rules can vary by county, city limits, or homeowners association. Check with Webb city hall or your county office before large deliveries or any work affecting roads, drainage, or public right-of-way. If you need help identifying local requirements, contact our team and we can point you in the right direction.
Contact Hello Gravel as soon as possible—changes are easiest before the order is processed or the truck is dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but modifications after dispatch may be limited and could incur fees. For delivery issues, reach out to customer service promptly so we can work to resolve the problem.
