Local Insights
Sherman is a small community with a population of 457. Though Sherman itself is small, it sits within a broader metro area of 2.5+ million and a local growth rate of 1.85% annually, which together point to steady, ongoing demand for home improvements, infill construction, and landscaping projects rather than a sudden boom. In a Hardiness Zone of 8b with 228 sunny days per year and 34.25 inches of annual rainfall, homeowners need materials that balance sun exposure and periodic moisture—durable base materials for driveways and patios, well-graded aggregates for drainage, topsoil and soil blends for planting beds, and organic mulches for moisture retention. Quality bulk materials matter here because they reduce maintenance, improve drainage, and match local site conditions.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Pricing varies by material type, quantity, and the supplier's distance to your job site. Hello Gravel shows upfront pricing for your zip code and can provide a quote—use the online calculator or contact our team for an estimate. Keep in mind our minimum order is 3 tons and delivery fees depend on local hauling and road access.
Materials are regionally sourced from nearby quarries, pits, and soil suppliers in West Mississippi to reflect local geology. That means color, texture, and particle sizes can vary by supplier; you can request preferences in the Order Notes and check photos where available.
Estimate the volume by multiplying area (20 ft x 20 ft) by the desired depth, then convert cubic feet to tons using the material density—our material calculator walks through this math. Costs depend on material type, required depth (often 3-6 inches for surface stone), base preparation, and delivery; get a quote through our site for the most accurate price.
Key factors are width, depth, drainage needs, and whether you need a compacted base or additional bedding materials. These influence how much material you need and the type you choose, and they affect delivery logistics like truck placement and spreading. Use our calculator and talk to our team if you need help matching material to use and budget.
While local soils and riverbeds reflect regional geology, aggregate deliveries from suppliers are intended for construction and landscaping, not prospecting. Rare mineral finds are not a reliable or relevant factor when choosing materials for a project, and they do not affect material pricing or quality standards for construction use.
Land prices and real estate trends don't directly set aggregate prices, but local geology, quarry availability, and transportation costs in West Mississippi do influence material supply and cost. Lower local extraction or shorter haul distances can mean better pricing, but final cost still depends on the material, volume, and delivery conditions.
Standard delivery is typically 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Deliveries use contracted dump truck fleets (usually tri-axle) and drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion; schedule your preferred delivery date at checkout and confirm access instructions in Order Notes.
Contact our customer service as soon as possible if you need to modify or cancel an order. We will do our best to accommodate requests before the supplier dispatches the truck, but changes become harder once the order is processed or on the road, and may be limited by supplier schedules.
Consider the project's purpose (driveway, drainage, garden beds, grading), desired appearance, load requirements, and local climate. Our material quiz, calculator, and sales team can help you match gravel, sand, dirt, stone options to your needs and recommend depths and preparation steps for long-lasting results.
Most deliveries in our network use tri-axle dump trucks, and a single truckload typically ranges in the ballpark of 10-15 tons, though exact capacity depends on the material type and local weight limits. For larger projects we can coordinate multiple truckloads and schedule deliveries to match your timeline and site access.
