Local Insights
Meridian has a city population of 46,960 and sits within a growing regional footprint, with a metro area population of 2.5+ million. That steady 1.85% annual growth typically translates into sustained demand for residential and public works—more driveways, patios, drainage improvements, and yard renovations rather than a single surge. Meridian's climate, with 228 sunny days per year, about 34.25 inches of annual rainfall, and a USDA hardiness zone of 8b, shapes practical material choices: homeowners need supplies that handle alternating wet and dry periods, resist erosion during seasonal storms, and tolerate frequent sun exposure. For projects ranging from grading and drainage to landscaping beds and walkways, reliable bulk materials—dirt, sand, gravel, stone, and mulch—reduce callbacks and long-term maintenance. Regional sourcing also matters: materials that reflect local geology typically compact and perform more predictably for area contractors and DIYers.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Costs vary by material type, quantity, and how far a supplier must travel. Expect prices to reflect local supply and delivery distance; use our online calculator or get a quote for a more exact number. Note our minimum order is 3 tons and additional fees may apply for next-day delivery or long hauls.
Home projects like driveways, patios, raised beds, and drainage trenches often need bulk deliveries, as do commercial jobs such as site grading and road base. Seasonal work in Meridian, like spring landscaping or fall erosion control, also commonly uses materials delivered by dump truck. Tell us the project type and we'll suggest a few suitable material options.
Start by picking a material based on function: structural base, surface finish, drainage, or fill. For example, choose materials designed for compaction and base stability for driveways, and better-draining mixes for low spots and swales; our team can help match u0022gravel, sand, dirt, stoneu0022 blends to your needs. If you’re unsure, use our aggregate quiz or call for guidance.
Measure the area (length x width) and decide the compacted depth you need, then use our online calculator to convert cubic feet to tons. For common projects we provide quick estimates, but soil type and compaction affect the final amount, so ordering a little extra for waste and settling is recommended. Contact our team if you want a review of your measurements.
We serve Meridian and many surrounding zip codes, including 39301; availability depends on your exact address. Enter your zip code at checkout or call the sales team to confirm service to your location and any specific delivery notes. If a local supplier is available we’ll schedule delivery and confirm the date.
Standard delivery typically takes 2 or more business days from order, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. You can choose a preferred date during checkout and we’ll confirm once a local hauler is assigned. Keep in mind weather and site access can affect scheduling.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion; you can request this service at checkout. They will assess safety and feasibility upon arrival, but spreading is not guaranteed. If spreading is critical, discuss options with our team before booking.
Because we source regionally, texture and color can vary based on local geology; online images are examples, not exact matches. If color or texture is important, note your preference in the Order Notes and we’ll pass it to the supplier. Contact customer service promptly if the material differs significantly from what you expected.
Most residential deliveries are straightforward, but some sites need permits or special arrangements—especially when trucks must block a public right-of-way or drive over delicate surfaces. Make sure driveways and access points are clear of low-hanging wires and vehicles, and tell us about tight turns or steep approaches so we can match the right truck. If you expect to use a public street or curb cut, check with local Meridian authorities first.
Meridian’s humid climate and periodic heavy rain mean drainage and erosion control are key considerations for many projects. Choose materials that drain well for low areas, and denser, more stable mixes for base layers that need to resist washout. Our team can recommend mixes that suit local weather patterns and soil conditions.
Contractors can place larger orders, schedule recurring deliveries, and work directly with our sales team to coordinate logistics and timing. We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay, and can help plan bulk deliveries to fit your project schedule. Call our contractor support line to discuss volume pricing and delivery windows.
