Local Insights
Morgan is a small city of 1,370 residents. With a steady growth rate of 0.40% annually, demand in Morgan tends toward gradual infill, home updates, and periodic new construction rather than a rapid building boom—meaning homeowners and contractors often need reliable quantities of bulk materials for renovation, driveway repairs, garden refreshes, and small additions. The local climate—about 228 sunny days per year and 34.25 inches of rain annually—combined with a milder hardiness zone of 8b shapes what works here: materials that provide good drainage during wet spells, retain moisture for established plantings during sunny stretches, and resist erosion on sloped sites. That mix of conditions makes quality bulk supplies—gravel, sand, topsoil, mulch, fill dirt, and blended mixes—important for durable driveways, stable foundations, healthy planting beds, and low-maintenance landscapes.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Think about how the area will be used (driveway, patio, garden bed, grading) and the performance you need (drainage, compaction, appearance). Materials like gravel, sand, dirt, stone come in many sizes and blends; choose a product that matches the function—drainage mixes for low spots, stable aggregates for driveways, and clean fill for grading. Use a material calculator or contact our team for a recommendation based on your project dimensions and local climate.
Freeze-thaw can cause fine materials to shift and create frost heave in unprepared areas, so good drainage and proper base depth are important. In Morgan, MN, pick materials and installation methods that shed water and compact well to reduce movement. Scheduling work outside the wettest and coldest months and using proper compaction helps long-term performance.
We supply materials for driveways, patios, walkways, raised beds, grading, erosion control, and general repairs. To estimate quantity, measure the area (length x width) and desired depth in inches and use this formula: cubic yards = (square feet x depth in inches) / 324, then add 5-10% for waste and compaction. Use our online calculator or contact sales for help converting to tons or truck loads for Morgan deliveries.
Deliveries are typically made by contracted dump trucks (often tri-axle) and require a minimum order of 3 tons. Standard delivery takes 2+ business days; next-day delivery may be available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion, but spreading is not guaranteed and depends on site access and safety.
Prices vary with material type, distance from the supplier, and site access, so ballpark delivered costs can span a wide range. Many homeowners in rural Minnesota see typical delivered ranges rather than exact quotes, and the best way to get an accurate price is to request a quote for your zip code and project size. Hello Gravel displays transparent pricing at checkout and can help explain the factors that affect cost.
Late spring through early fall is usually the easiest time to schedule deliveries and installation because sites are drier and there is less risk of frost or deep mud. Deliveries can occur year-round, but winter freeze, snow, and spring thaw can cause access issues or extra site preparation. If you need a fast turnaround, consider the next-day option (orders before noon CST) and plan for potential weather delays.
Local township, county, or HOA rules can affect driveway changes, stormwater management, and visible landscaping materials, so check with your township office, county zoning, or HOA before ordering. Small repairs often don’t need permits, but driveways, curb cuts, or grading work can, depending on location. If you’re unsure, contact our team and we can suggest common local requirements and next steps.
Contact our customer service team as soon as possible—orders are easiest to change before they are dispatched. We will do our best to accommodate modifications, but changes may be limited once a truck has been scheduled or loaded. Call 855-241-8884 or text 844-407-3734 for the fastest help.
Clear a safe drop zone, mark any fragile landscaping or utility lines, and make sure there is adequate truck access and turning room for a dump truck. Leave delivery details in the Order Notes (preferred drop location, gate codes, or hazards) and be prepared that the driver will evaluate site conditions on arrival. If you want spreading, request it at checkout but expect the driver to decide if it is safe to proceed.
