Local Insights
Le Center, with a city population of 3,650, sits in a region experiencing modest but steady expansion; the local growth rate of 0.40% annually suggests ongoing, incremental demand for home improvements, infill construction, and small-scale infrastructure updates rather than a building boom. The broader metro area of 2.5+ million supports regional trade and supply networks that make a variety of aggregates accessible. With 228 sunny days per year and 34.25 inches of annual rainfall, homeowners face both sun exposure and periodic wet conditions—so choices about base stone, topsoil, sand, and mulch must balance drainage, compaction, and moisture retention. Hardiness zone 8b influences planting timelines and the types of organic amendments that perform well. In this environment, reliable, locally sourced bulk materials matter: they ensure proper drainage, long-lasting driveways and paths, healthy planting beds, and erosion control while reflecting the region’s geology and seasonal patterns.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Delivered price varies by material type, local supplier rates, and truck distance. Use our online checkout for an exact quote for your zip code (56057) or contact our team for a fast estimate. Keep in mind the minimum order is 3 tons and any specialty or colored materials may cost more.
Our minimum order is 3 tons. Standard delivery is scheduled for 2+ business days and may be free in many areas, while next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Final delivery fees depend on your exact zip code and the supplier serving your area.
We use dump trucks (typically tri-axle) for delivery and most deliveries are dumped at the requested location on your property. Some drivers can load a pickup bed when it is safe and feasible; request this in your order notes and the driver will assess on arrival, but this service is not guaranteed.
Bulk material is often more cost-effective than bagged materials once you account for price per cubic yard and delivery, especially for larger projects. Savings depend on the material and project size; for a better comparison, get a local delivered quote and use our material calculator to compare total costs. Remember to factor in any labor for spreading if you are not installing it yourself.
Multiply the area by depth to get cubic feet, then divide by 27 to convert to cubic yards. For 1,000 sq ft at 3 inches (0.25 ft): 1,000 x 0.25 = 250 cubic feet, or about 9.3 cubic yards. We recommend ordering about 5-10% extra to allow for settling, grading, and waste, and you can use our online calculator for other sizes and materials.
We connect customers with a range of bulk materials, including gravel, sand, dirt, stone, mulch, and more. Delivered price depends on the material type, local availability, processing (washed or screened), and any color or specialty options. Request a quote for the specific materials you're considering to compare delivered costs.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion; request this service at checkout and the driver will assess whether it can be done safely upon arrival. For full installation or labor-intensive projects, we recommend hiring a local landscaper or contractor and we can coordinate timing with your installation crew.
Spring and early fall are popular for landscaping projects, when ground conditions are generally favorable. Summer is busy so schedule early, and winter deliveries can be limited by frozen ground, road restrictions, and supplier schedules—check availability for winter months. Plan ahead for peak seasons to lock in your preferred delivery date.
Volume discounts and contractor pricing are often available through our network of suppliers, and seasonal specials may appear at different times of year. Contact our sales team to discuss large orders or repeat contractor needs so we can find the best local pricing and options. Availability and discount levels depend on the supplier and current inventory.
Next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee, subject to supplier and truck availability. Same-day delivery is uncommon but may be possible in limited circumstances; contact our team immediately to check. Schedule your preferred date on the checkout calendar or call/text our team to confirm timing and any special delivery instructions.
Natural materials vary regionally, so texture and color may differ from photos; if something looks off, contact customer service promptly and we will work to resolve the issue. For order changes, contact us as soon as possible—changes are easier before the order is dispatched but not always possible once materials and trucks are assigned.
