Local Insights
Madawaska's city population is 2,480, and the area sits within a wider regional market with a Metro Area Population of 603,000. A Growth Rate of 0.50% annually suggests steady, incremental demand for home improvements and modest new construction rather than a boom — homeowners can expect ongoing, practical projects like drainage upgrades, driveway repairs, and garden renewals. Local climate matters: Annual Rainfall of 47.00 inches and about 215/year sunny days create a pattern of reliable moisture punctuated by long clear periods, while a Hardiness Zone of 7b shapes plant choices and seasonal schedules. In this setting, quality bulk materials — from various aggregates and soils to mulches and sands — matter because they determine how well landscaping and foundation work hold up over repeated wetting, drying, and freeze–thaw cycles. Homeowners need materials that balance drainage, stability, and plant support, and contractors require consistent, local supply to plan jobs efficiently.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Costs vary by material type, the number of tons, delivery distance, and supplier. A typical tri-axle dump truck carries roughly 10–12 tons (about 6–9 cubic yards depending on material), so price is usually quoted per ton or per cubic yard. For a firm estimate, request a quote for your zip code and desired material through our site or contact our team.
Price per cubic yard or per ton depends on whether you need gravel, sand, dirt, stone, or a mix, plus local availability and delivery distance. As a rule of thumb, one cubic yard can weigh roughly 1.2–1.6 tons depending on the material and moisture content, so check both units when comparing quotes. Use Hello Gravel’s material calculator or get a quote to see current local pricing for Madawaska.
Choose material based on function: load-bearing projects need well-graded, compactable material; drainage areas need more permeable, coarse material; and finished surfaces should prioritize appearance and compaction. Consider local freeze-thaw conditions in Madawaska and whether you need a base layer, bedding, or top layer. If you’re unsure, request guidance from our sales team—tell us your project type, dimensions, and site conditions for the best recommendation.
Use area times depth to calculate volume, then convert to cubic yards and tons. For example, a 12' x 50' driveway with a 4u0022 base is about 7.4 cubic yards (roughly 9–10 tons depending on material). Small patios and garden beds are often less than one cubic yard; for accuracy, use our online calculator or contact us with your project dimensions for a quick estimate.
We connect you with local suppliers and contracted dump truck fleets; most standard deliveries require at least 2 business days. Next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee, but availability depends on local supplier schedules. During checkout you can choose a delivery date, and our team will confirm timing and any access requirements.
Drivers may offer tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed and depends on safety and site conditions. You can request spreading at checkout and the driver will assess feasibility upon arrival. If spreading is required, consider hiring a local contractor or planning for a separate spreading service to ensure a finished look.
Materials reflect local geology, so texture, color, and grain size can vary across suppliers in Madawaska. Natural materials like gravel, sand, dirt, and stone will have inherent variation and may differ from pictures. If color or texture is important, note preferences in the order notes and we will do our best to match them within local availability.
Contact our team as soon as possible—orders are easier to modify before processing and dispatch. We will do our best to accommodate change requests, but modifications depend on supplier and trucking schedules and cannot be guaranteed. For fastest service call or text the sales number provided in your confirmation.
Hello Gravel has a minimum order of 3 tons, and deliveries are typically made by tri-axle dump trucks, so site access and road restrictions matter. Some rural or tight-access sites may require smaller trucks, offloading fees, or additional coordination with the supplier. Check your zip code for service availability and note any access issues at checkout so the driver can plan a safe delivery.
Use the Hello Gravel website to calculate needs and request a quote, or contact our sales team at 855-241-8884 (call) or text 844-407-3734 for personalized guidance. Provide your project details, dimensions, and any site constraints to get the most accurate recommendation and delivery availability. We’ll connect you with local suppliers and help schedule a delivery window that fits your timeline.
