Local Insights
Lebanon has a city population of 5,750 and sits within a broader metro area of 603,000 residents. A growth rate of 0.50% annually suggests steady, incremental development rather than a rapid boom, which translates to consistent demand for maintenance, landscaping upgrades, and modest new construction projects. Local climate and geography — including 47.00 inches of annual rainfall, about 215 sunny days per year, and hardiness zone 7b — create conditions where drainage, erosion control, and plant establishment are regular homeowner concerns. That mix of moisture and warmth favors materials that balance permeability and stability: fill and grading mixes for reshaping yards, screened soils and organic blends for planting beds, and durable aggregates for driveways and pathways. Homeowners benefit from choosing materials that resist seasonal wetting and freeze-thaw cycles while supporting healthy plant growth during the long growing season.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

It depends on use and soil. For driveways and parking areas choose from gravel, sand, dirt, stone based on the load and drainage you need: more angular, compacting aggregates give stability for vehicle traffic, while open-graded materials help drainage. Consider a layered approach (good base plus a surface material) and allow for local freeze-thaw conditions when selecting materials.
Delivery cost depends on the material type, order size, distance from the supplier, and site accessibility. Hello Gravel requires a minimum order of 3 tons and factors like next-day delivery requests, tight access, or long rural drives can add fees. Get an online quote or contact our team for an estimate tailored to your address and project.
Choose materials and installation methods that promote drainage and resist frost heave: stable, angular aggregates and well-draining mixes typically perform better through freeze-thaw cycles. Proper site prep, compaction, and drainage features (like a crushed base or geotextile) are as important as the material itself for long-term performance.
Late spring through early fall is generally the easiest time because ground is unfrozen and access is better, reducing the risk of mud and frozen surfaces. Winter and early spring can be more expensive or limited due to weather and supplier availability, though deliveries are possible depending on local conditions and supplier schedules. Plan ahead and use the checkout calendar to reserve a preferred date.
Many local suppliers serve rural areas around Lebanon, but delivery depends on road access, truck turnaround space, and local restrictions. Remote deliveries may incur additional charges and drivers may need instructions for gates, narrow roads, or long driveways. Check your zip code on our site and contact our team if you have unusual access issues.
Measure the area (length x width) and decide the depth you need in inches; convert to cubic yards (divide cubic feet by 27) and then to tons using the approximate density for the material. Allow 5% to 15% extra for compaction, settling, and waste depending on the job. Use Hello Gravel's material calculator or contact our team with dimensions for help with a more precise estimate.
Heavier and bulkier materials generally cost more to deliver because of weight and hauling limits, and some materials take more time to spread and compact, which raises installation costs. Accessibility, site prep, and whether you request spreading all affect total cost more than the material alone. Ask for separate line items for material, delivery, and any spreading so you can compare options side by side.
Same-week delivery is often possible but depends on local supplier and truck availability, especially during peak season. Hello Gravel's standard delivery window is 2+ business days, with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. The minimum order size is 3 tons.
You may need permits or approvals for some driveway work, curb cuts, changes to stormwater flow, or work near wetlands or right-of-way areas. Requirements vary by town and by project scale, so check with the Lebanon town office, local planning or public works department, and any HOA before ordering. Hello Gravel can deliver materials, but it is your responsibility to obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance.
Long-term cost-effectiveness depends on the purpose: gravel-type materials usually perform better for drainage and load-bearing surfaces and often require less frequent replacement, while sand can be cheaper upfront for leveling and bedding but may shift or wash away more easily. Consider function, maintenance, and local drainage needs when choosing between options and get a quote that includes expected maintenance or top-up frequency.
