Local Insights
Odin (city population 103) is part of a regional market anchored by Hartford in West Kansas, Kansas, where the broader metro area population is 2.5+ million. With a steady growth rate of 0.40% annually, construction and landscaping demand tends to be gradual and steady rather than boom-driven — that means homeowners and small contractors often focus on incremental upgrades, maintenance, and targeted improvements instead of large-scale development. Odin’s climate and geography — hardiness zone 8b, about 228 sunny days per year, and annual rainfall of 34.25 inches — favor materials that balance sun and rain exposure: products that provide good drainage after storms, resist UV degradation during long sunny stretches, and tolerate periodic wet-dry cycles. For local projects this increases the value of well-graded aggregates, reliable topsoil blends, and weather-resistant organic materials, and it makes accurate quantity estimates and scheduled deliveries especially important for on-time, durable results.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Start with the job: choose durable, coarse materials like gravel and stone for drainage and driveways, finer materials like sand or screened dirt for leveling and beds, and mulch or topsoil for planting. Consider appearance, compaction needs, and how water should move on the site; regional variations mean local suppliers often offer the best match for West Kansas conditions. If you are unsure, use our material quiz or contact our team for guidance on suited material types and sizes.
Our minimum order is 3 tons (check your zip code for availability). Standard delivery typically requires 2+ business days, and next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. We confirm delivery windows with the hauler and recommend scheduling early to secure preferred dates.
Yes, we deliver to rural driveways in the Odin service area, but some rural properties may have access limitations like narrow gates, low-hanging lines, or soft ground. Drivers and local suppliers may assess access on arrival; extra placement services or fees can apply when special equipment, long-distance wheelbarrow work, or loader placement is needed. If your site has access challenges, tell us at checkout so we can coordinate the right truck and note potential additional charges.
Coverage depends on the material and desired depth. As a rule of thumb, at 3 inches depth 1 cubic yard covers about 108 sq ft, 3 cubic yards covers about 324 sq ft, and 5 cubic yards covers about 540 sq ft; at 2 inches depth those same volumes cover about 162, 486, and 810 sq ft respectively. Use our material calculator to get precise estimates for your project and include slopes or compaction when planning quantities.
Delivery and material prices vary by local supplier, material type, and distance from the source, so we provide transparent, location-based quotes at checkout. Per-yard pricing and bulk discounts are sometimes available for larger orders; request a quote or contact our sales team to compare unit pricing for your specific zip code in the Odin area. Taxes and any access or placement fees are shown before you pay.
Next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST and usually carries an additional fee, which varies by route and hauler. Same-day service is rarely available and depends on supplier and truck availability; contact our team to check if a rush delivery is possible and what the cost would be. We recommend ordering with as much lead time as possible to avoid rush fees.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading or light placement at their discretion, but these services are not guaranteed and depend on safety and equipment. Loader placement, extensive wheelbarrow service, or driveway protection typically requires coordination with the supplier and may incur extra charges. You can request placement services at checkout and we will let you know what the hauler can provide for your site.
You can order online and choose your preferred delivery date on the checkout calendar; payment is accepted by major credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay. If you need to modify or cancel, contact our team as soon as possible—changes are easiest before the order is dispatched and are subject to supplier processing. We will do our best to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee changes after the truck has been assigned.
Many local suppliers allow customer pickup, but availability and any pickup discounts vary by site and are shown when you check your zip code. Truck size and load limits depend on the supplier yard and local regulations; confirm with customer service whether a pickup truck, small dump truck, or larger trailer is appropriate for the material you want. Always bring proper safety gear and a means to offload if you pick up yourself.
Materials like gravel, sand, dirt, and stone reflect regional geology, so color, texture, and particle shape can vary across West Kansas. We describe materials to help you choose, but exact color and consistency may differ from photos; you can add appearance preferences in the order notes. If the look is critical, ask for a sample or contact our team for supplier photos before ordering.
