Local Insights
Hillsboro is a small but active community with a city population of 3,220, located within a larger regional economy that supports both rural and residential development. A growth rate of 0.40% annually suggests measured, steady expansion rather than a construction boom, which typically means more incremental residential projects, yard upgrades, and targeted infrastructure work rather than large subdivisions. Hillsboro’s hardiness zone 8b, 228 sunny days per year, and 34.25 inches of annual rainfall shape what materials work best here: homeowners need supplies that resist strong sun exposure, manage occasional heavy rainfall, and perform reliably across warm seasons. That combination favors durable surfacing, good drainage materials, stable base aggregates, and weather-resistant mulches or topsoils. Local sourcing also affects color and texture, so choosing quality bulk materials helps ensure long-lasting driveways, stable garden beds, and erosion-resistant grades suited to this environment.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Measure the area in feet and decide the desired depth in inches, then convert to cubic yards (27 cubic feet per cubic yard). As a rule of thumb: 1 cubic yard covers about 324 sq ft at a 1u0022 depth or about 108 sq ft at 3u0022 depth. Use our online material calculator or contact our team with your dimensions for help and a recommended allowance for compaction or settling.
Delivered price depends on the type of material, distance from the supplier, load size, and local availability. Seasonal demand, access challenges at the delivery site, and requested delivery speed (standard vs next-day) can also change the cost. Enter your zip code at checkout or contact our sales team for an accurate quote for the listed Hillsboro-area zips.
Our minimum order is 3 tons. Standard delivery is typically available in 2+ business days, and next-day delivery can be arranged for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee. Check your zip code at checkout to confirm availability and exact timing.

Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion and when it is safe to do so, but this is not guaranteed. For full spreading, grading, or installation labor, we recommend hiring a local contractor; contact our sales team to discuss referrals or to note installation requests at checkout.
Choose materials based on the project's function: stabilization and load-bearing for driveways, fine textures for pathways, and weed control plus moisture retention for beds. Consider drainage, desired appearance, maintenance, and local climate; our aggregate quiz and sales team can help match the right material for your Hillsboro project.
Volume discounts and contractor pricing are often available through our network of local suppliers, especially for larger or repeat orders. Contact our sales team to discuss account setup, pricing tiers, and qualification criteria for contractor or repeat-customer discounts in West Kansas.
No single photo can perfectly represent every load. Because we source regionally, color, texture, and particle size may vary based on local geology. If appearance is important, note color preferences at checkout and contact us for samples or more detailed product descriptions.
Sales tax and any local fees depend on Hillsboro and Kansas tax rules and will be applied at checkout based on the delivery address. If you have tax-exempt status or questions about specific charges, contact our customer service before ordering so we can provide guidance for your delivery zip code.
You can order online or call our sales team; we accept major credit cards, PayPal, and Apple Pay through a secure checkout. If you prefer pickup from a local supplier, mention it during ordering—pickup availability and any discounts depend on the supplier and location.
Contact our team as soon as possible; changes are easier to accommodate before the order is dispatched. We will do our best to modify or cancel orders depending on processing status, but changes cannot be guaranteed once materials are on the truck.
