Local Insights
Nez Perce County serves a community with a city population of 42,000 and sits within a broader metro area population of 2.5+ million. A growth rate of 0.69% annually signals steady, manageable demand for home building and landscaping rather than a sudden boom, which means homeowners can plan projects with predictable access to contractors and materials. The local climate—hardiness zone 8b with 152 sunny days per year and annual rainfall of 33.50 inches—creates a mix of dry and wet conditions that influence material performance. For practical projects around the home, that translates into a need for well-draining base materials, durable surfacing that resists seasonal settling, and topsoils or mulches that support plantings through both sunny stretches and periodic rains. Ordering quality bulk materials online helps homeowners get the right mix, from base aggregate to planting soils, without multiple supplier calls.

Hello Gravel cared more about the structural integrity of my house than they did about making the sale. I was trying to place an order to buy dirt to place between a retaining wall and footings at the base of columns that hold up my house. They could have just sold me anything for profit, but they told me to go get the advice of a structural engineer, knowing that the structural engineer would probably order the dirt himself and possibly from another company. That’s integrity.

Yes — we deliver to Nez Perce County when your zip is in our service area. We offer free delivery in many locations, but availability depends on supplier coverage and distance; remote or rural addresses may incur extra fees. Enter your zip code at checkout to see delivery fees and available dates.
Start with the purpose of the project (drainage, pathway, base material, top dressing, erosion control, or planting beds). Consider load-bearing needs, drainage, desired appearance, and how the local climate and soil will affect performance. Use our material calculator and quiz or contact our sales team for a recommended option based on your project details.
We sell materials by weight (tons) and by volume (cubic yards) depending on the product and supplier. A quick estimate is: area (sq ft) x depth (inches) / 324 = cubic yards. Truck capacity and material density vary, so convert to tons only after checking the material type or use our online calculator for a precise estimate.
Our minimum order is 3 tons. If you need to change or cancel, contact our team as soon as possible — changes are easiest before the order is processed or the truck is dispatched, and we will do our best to accommodate requests. Some changes may not be possible once the hauler is en route.
Standard delivery is 2+ business days. Next-day delivery is available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee, subject to supplier and truck availability. Same-day delivery is rare and depends on local supplier capacity; contact us early to check options.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion; request the service at checkout and the driver will assess whether it can be done safely upon arrival. Hauling away existing material or full installation is not guaranteed through standard delivery — discuss removal or installation services with customer service so we can coordinate with suppliers or recommend local contractors.
Tight driveways, low-hanging wires, narrow roads, or steep grades can limit truck access and may require smaller trucks, additional labor, or special routing. These conditions can add extra fees and scheduling constraints, so include detailed site notes and photos at checkout to help us plan the right truck and avoid surprises. We will confirm any access issues before dispatch.
Many suppliers and haulers offer tiered pricing for larger orders or for repeat contractor accounts. Contact our sales team for a custom quote and to discuss volume pricing, scheduling preferences, and account terms for projects across the Idaho Region. Availability and discounts depend on local supplier agreements and order volume.
Plan major deliveries outside extreme winter freeze/thaw periods if possible, and order in advance for spring and fall when demand is higher. Consider drainage and erosion control for heavy rains, and pick material sizes and types that perform well with local soils. If timing is critical, choose next-day delivery and include scheduling notes at checkout.
Cost depends on the material type, quantity, distance from the supplier, and any access or labor needs. Use our online quote tool after entering your zip code for transparent pricing, or contact sales for help estimating a multi-load job. Remember to factor in possible extras like small-truck surcharges, spreading requests, or disposal of old material.
Natural materials vary by source, so color and texture may differ from photos; regional sourcing means you'll get materials that reflect local geology. If you have concerns, take photos, note the delivery ticket, and contact customer service promptly so we can work with the supplier and hauler to resolve the issue. Review our policies or request next steps from our team for dispute resolution.
We offer a range of materials including mulch and other organic products, plus gravel, sand, dirt, and stone sourced regionally. For planting beds, organic mulch and screened topsoil help with moisture and soil building; for paths, drainage, and structural bases, denser aggregates are typically better. If you describe your soil, plant types, and goals, our team can suggest suitable material types and blends for Nez Perce County.
