Local Insights
New Plymouth is a small but active community of 4,590 residents, and its steady 1.20% annual growth points toward ongoing demand for home improvements, infill projects, and seasonal landscaping upgrades. That steady growth—not rapid expansion—means more homeowners are investing in incremental upgrades like updated driveways, water management features, and low-maintenance yards rather than large-scale subdivisions. The local climate and geography help explain material choices: with 228 sunny days a year, 34.25 inches of rainfall, and a Hardiness Zone of 8b, residents need materials that balance sun exposure and moisture resistance. For projects ranging from pathways and patios to grading and erosion control, reliable bulk supplies (gravel, sand, dirt, mulch, and other aggregates) matter because they determine drainage performance, compaction behavior, and long-term stability. Sourcing regionally appropriate materials reduces surprises in color, texture, and performance and helps homeowners get durable results that fit New Plymouth’s environment.

While I cannot speak to the actual service, I did enter my phone number to get a quote. I realized it was probably too much for my small project. But I received a very helpful follow up text conversation, and after I explained it was probably more than I needed, they still took time to help me work through how much I would need, and offered me possible solutions, even knowing I wouldn't be using their product. Makes me wish they had fit my needs, if that's the level of service they provided even to a non customers

Just a little hiccup in the delivery date but everything worked out well and with great communication from Janel. Ordering went smoothly as well as working with the delivery team to deliver to the appropriate location for my yard.

Standard deliveries generally require at least 2 business days, and next-day delivery is often available for orders placed before noon CST for an additional fee. Our minimum order is 3 tons; you can choose your preferred delivery date during checkout and will receive a confirmation with an estimated delivery window.
Choose material based on traffic load, drainage needs, and desired appearance—materials like gravel, sand, dirt, stone each behave differently under traffic and weather. Use our material quiz or contact our team to match material characteristics to your project and local conditions in West Idaho.
Use the rule: cubic yards = (area in square feet * depth in inches) / 324. Convert cubic yards to tons by multiplying by about 1.2 to 1.4 (varies by material); for example, a 12 ft x 50 ft single-car driveway (600 sq ft) at 4 inches needs about 7.4 cubic yards or roughly 9 to 10 tons. Our online material calculator can run the exact numbers for your address.
Prices vary by material, distance to the supplier, site accessibility, and seasonal demand; Hello Gravel displays transparent pricing and any delivery fees at checkout. If access is difficult or requires extra handling, additional charges may apply—your final quote will reflect those factors.
Yes; spring and summer are typically the busiest months for deliveries, which can increase lead times and influence pricing. Wet or freezing conditions in late fall and winter can limit hauling and site work, so plan ahead for large projects.
Permit requirements vary—many driveways and changes to road access require a city or county permit, culvert installation, or coordination with Payette County public works. Check with the City of New Plymouth and Payette County before ordering to confirm setbacks, drainage, and any required approvals.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this service is not guaranteed and depends on safety and equipment. For consistent grading and compaction, we recommend hiring a local contractor; we can help coordinate haulers for delivery while you arrange installation services.
Make sure there is a firm, level access route for tri-axle dump trucks, at least 12 to 14 feet of vertical clearance, and clear space for a safe drop location. Mark the drop spot, unlock gates or provide directions, and notify us of unusual access constraints so we can coordinate the right truck and driver.
Demand typically clusters around New Plymouth and nearby population centers, so ZIP codes closest to 83655 often have higher order volume. Availability and demand can fluctuate by season and local projects, so check your ZIP at checkout for live availability and pricing.
Contact our team as soon as possible—changes are easiest to accommodate before the order is processed and dispatched. We will do our best to adjust quantities, delivery dates, or materials, but some modifications may not be possible once the truck is scheduled.
Because we source regionally, color and texture can vary—materials such as gravel, sand, dirt, stone reflect local geology and shipment batches. Images are representative; if color or texture is important, note preferences in your order or contact our team for guidance before purchasing.
Contractors and farms often schedule bulk deliveries in advance, set up standing orders, or request multiple truckloads on a chosen date to keep projects moving. Talk to our sales team about account options, scheduled deliveries, and volume coordination to lock in supply and streamline logistics.
