Natural Reject Sand

Natural reject sand is a byproduct of the sand screening process, consisting of coarse, unwashed particles that do not meet the specifications for fine construction sand. Unlike processed or washed sands, reject sand retains a mix of grain sizes and may contain small amounts of clay, silt, or organic material, giving it a more natural composition.




The unrefined nature of reject sand makes it less suitable for applications requiring a smooth, uniform finish, but it excels in uses where compaction and stability are more important than appearance. Common applications include backfilling trenches, leveling sub-bases for pavers, general site grading, and as fill material in landscaping projects. Its affordability and availability make it a practical choice for large-scale commercial or residential projects where premium sand is not necessary. However, due to its coarser texture and potential impurities, it is not recommended for concrete mixes or playgrounds.
