Bituminous Sand

Bituminous sand is a specialized construction aggregate that has been blended or naturally infused with bitumen, a sticky, black, and highly viscous form of petroleum. This unique attribute enhances the sand's binding properties, making it particularly effective in applications where adhesion and water resistance are critical.




The bituminous quality of this sand makes it ideal for use in asphalt production, road base construction, and patching materials. It is commonly used in both residential and commercial paving projects, such as driveways, parking lots, and pathways, where a durable, weather-resistant surface is required. The bitumen content helps reduce dust and improves compaction, resulting in a smoother, longer-lasting finish. However, due to its sticky nature, bituminous sand is less suitable for decorative or drainage applications where clean, free-draining aggregates are preferred.
