Mulch Chips

Mulch chips are a type of organic ground cover made from chipped wood or bark. Unlike shredded mulch, chips are larger, irregular pieces that provide a natural, rustic appearance. The chipping process creates a durable material that resists compaction and allows for excellent air and water flow to plant roots.

This chip form is ideal for both residential and commercial landscaping projects, including garden beds, tree rings, playgrounds, and walking paths. The larger size of chips helps suppress weeds, retain soil moisture, and moderate soil temperature, while also breaking down slowly for long-lasting coverage. Mulch chips are especially valued for their ability to create a clean, finished look and for being less likely to blow away or wash out during heavy rain. However, they may not be suitable for areas requiring a very smooth or compacted surface.
