Fill sand, unwashed, is a naturally occurring granular material primarily composed of fine particles of rock and mineral. This material is typically sourced from local quarries or sand pits and is not processed to remove impurities.




The unwashed attribute means fill sand is ideal for use as a base or backfill material where compaction and stability are more important than cleanliness or appearance. It is commonly used in residential and commercial projects for filling low spots, leveling ground, backfilling trenches, and as a sub-base for concrete slabs or pavers. While its natural fines help it compact well, making it stable for foundational work, the presence of clay and silt can make it less suitable for drainage applications or areas where a clean, dust-free finish is required.
