In a decorative setting it reads as a fine gravel topping rather than a chunky rock bed.
The 89 is a screen size from the ASTM D448 spec. It tells you how big the pieces are and says nothing about the kind of rock, so you'll see #89 limestone, #89 granite, and #89 river gravel all sold under the same number. Price usually runs on the low end for crushed stone since the smaller sizes come off the same screens that produce the bigger loads.
