The 6" size range is significantly larger than standard base course aggregates, making it ideal for projects requiring substantial load-bearing capacity and enhanced drainage. Its coarse, open structure allows water to pass through easily, reducing the risk of pooling and frost heave. While the large particle size offers excellent support and drainage, it is less suitable for areas requiring a smooth, compacted surface. For best results, it is often used as the bottom layer, topped with finer aggregates to achieve a level finish.
