Aggregate Base Course in a 1.5" to 3.5" size range is a coarse, unwashed blend of crushed stone and gravel designed primarily for use as structural fill. This material is produced by mechanically crushing and screening quarried rock, resulting in angular particles that interlock well for stability.




The larger 1.5" to 3.5" size range makes this aggregate ideal for heavy-duty fill applications where maximum load-bearing capacity and rapid drainage are required. Its coarse texture prevents compaction to a fully solid state, allowing water to pass through and reducing the risk of frost heave or pooling. Common uses include sub-base layers for roads, highways, parking lots, and large-scale commercial or industrial site preparation. While its size and angularity provide excellent support and drainage, it is not suitable for finished surfaces or areas requiring a smooth, compacted base.
