Walkway gravel is small, rounded decorative gravel for casual walkways and garden borders. It packs tighter than larger river rock and feels as comfortable underfoot as pea gravel. Path gravel, garden path gravel and pathway stone are other names for it. Edging and a base of compacted fines keep it in place.
The best gravel for a walkway depends on the surface you want. Walkway gravel and pea gravel are rounded and comfortable underfoot, while decomposed granite compacts into a firm, natural surface. All three are listed for paths or walkways. Rounded gravel shifts more, so add edging.

I ordered walkway gravel for around the house and paver and fountain areas, plus #57 limestone gravel for the street in front of my house to help with drainage and parking since I park on the street. The team was professional, responsive, and really thorough in helping me figure out the right amount of material for each project. Communication was excellent throughout. They texted and called before, during, and after delivery, kept me updated on timing, and even gave me an exact ETA the day of delivery. The delivery itself was handled perfectly.
