Product description

Volcanic red that never fades, never rots, and never needs topping off.

Red cinder rock is crushed volcanic cinder in a deep, natural red — Oregon geology doing the decorating. At roughly 1/2"–3/4" it spreads like bark but never fades, breaks down, or washes out, making it a one-and-done alternative to mulch in flowerbeds and landscape beds. Spread it approximately 3" deep for full coverage. One cubic yard weighs approximately 900 lbs — about half the weight of river rock, so each yard covers generously. Hello Gravel delivers it in bulk by dump truck across Salem and the Willamette Valley.

I initially ordered the wrong amount but the customer service representative, Jenel, helped me out by correcting it and giving me a refund immediately. I advised them where I would like the dirt to be dumped in my backyard and the driver made it happen. Great experience working with Jenel and Hello Gravel.

I work for an industrial construction company that deals with a lot of civil work, and I'm very accustomed to building a proper base with specific materials on projects we work on. The people at Hello Gravel were very pleasant to deal with. Prices are good. Unfortunately, the product I asked for wasn't available after paying for it, but they worked hard at ensuring I had a suitabe alternative. In the end, it all worked well, and the staff were very attentive. Lots of operators would not have gone through the trouble they did to make sure I was happy as a customer. Hello Gravel did

Frequently Asked Questions

Use the calculator with your length, width, and depth. A 3" layer gives full ground coverage.

Delivered by dump truck across Salem and the Willamette Valley. Choose an accessible, level drop spot.

Yes. Priced by the cubic yard — one yard weighs approximately 900 lbs, lighter than most rock.

It never needs re-topping. Bark breaks down and fades within a few seasons; cinder holds its color and stays put for good.

Bulk aggregate, soil, sand, and mulch are not returnable once delivered. Use the calculator and round up slightly if you're close.
