Classic 3/8" pea gravel — smooth, small, and made for beds and drainage.
Pea gravel is 3/8" round river rock — small, smooth, and naturally mixed in color, typically running dark grey. It's a Willamette Valley staple for ground cover and drainage: spread it 1–2" deep through beds, borders, and drip lines and it does its job quietly for years. One honest note: it shifts underfoot, so for walkways we'd point you to 3/4" round rock instead. One cubic yard weighs approximately 2,200 lbs. Hello Gravel delivers it in bulk by dump truck across Salem and the Willamette Valley.
